I’m Alive

schoolbooksI tell you people, never EVER take 2 history classes and a programming class in the same semester over the summer. I thought I was going to lose it near the end having to write all those papers and programs. I did make it and got two A’s and a B. American History is not nearly as interesting to me as World History is.

I had 3 weeks off and I lounged a lot not by choice on some of those days either. I still have my full time job but my cars been giving me a headache with the clutch. I’ve replaced everything I can in the hydraulic clutch system and it STILL gets air in the hydraulic line essentially killing my clutch to the point where I cannot drive it and have to get it towed back to the shop so they can bleed the line – which I really need to learn to do since I can’t afford to buy even a used car at this point due to only making enough money to pay the essentials I have now.

I finally got my financial aid sorted out at a 4-year college to finish a Bachelor’s since employers are pissing me off and won’t accept two associates and 17 years of experience to hire me. Got my student ID and picked up my school books today. Classes start Monday. Should be interesting I guess.

Pepper is still alive and doing a lot better. Doc thought she must have had a really bad urinary infection and me pumping fluids in her for that month or so cleared up her issues and her creatinine came back down to normal. So she just goes in every month for her Polyglycon shots which helps her arthritis and she can move around easier. It’s all about the quality of life now.

Peppers Fiasco Week

Monday, June 23rd, 2014 | Animals, Personal with Comments Off on Peppers Fiasco Week

Pepper is 16 year’s old this May and recently developed either acute kidney failure as her creatinine is back down to normal after almost drowning her in fluids for a week or a slow deterioration in her kidney function. I will be getting another blood test done in 2 weeks as that will be a month since the last one. She may not need it but I’d rather know since I am still giving fluids every Tuesday/Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Hopefully, the creatinine is still normal and I can drop that down even more.

What irks me at this point is she keeps peeing on the kitchen floor instead of using the pee pads I have down. I mean, how the hell do you get them to use those?!? I keep a bucket, mop, and bleach to clean this up multiple times a day. She even goes twice at night! I let them out at 11 PM every night before bed and I’m up between 5-6ish. How is it she can’t wait that long anymore? She’s sleeping for goodness sake. My neighbor let’s her out somewhere between 10 and 11 and I still have to clean up a mess when I get home.

So the week of camp. One of my friends agreed to watch both the dogs and to give Pepper her fluids as well as making sure she got her food that she needs to be on. What a fiasco that was. She never came over for me to show her how to do the fluids. Okay, just take her to the vet Monday and Wednesday then and let them give them as I gave her fluids on Saturday before I left. She never showed up Saturday until late afternoon first off. So she had to go to my next door neighbor, who owns the duplex, to be let in and get the instructions and key as I explained it to my neighbor too. She has MS so I didn’t want her to have the burden of taking care of them because she gets up late and goes to bed early.

She gets the key and it goes down hill from there. She wasn’t showing up to feed them or let them out because my neighbor was watching for her. I was getting daily calls being bitched out because because the kitchen floor was FILTHY as they had to go somewhere, right? She kept them baby gated in the kitchen because of all of this. I was getting text messages from my friend with excuses. Then she got bitched by my neighbor too which she should have because she said she would take care of them for me and then had the nerve to text me that she did. Well, WTF, she wasn’t doing what she said she would.

I swear I wanted to wring her neck. Still sort of do too because I still haven’t seen her since getting back and she hasn’t dropped off my house key yet. I was getting reports from my neighbor that something was wrong with Pepper and I was to put her down when I got home because she kept peeing on the kitchen floor. Clearly she was pissed off and I had to replace some of the kitchen tiles due to all of this which I have a whole box extra that got left when they laid them down to begin with. I only had to replace some of them because the floors weren’t cleaned up properly.

Anyway, when I finally got home to assess the situation, Pepper was fine to a point. She was probably scared from being yelled at. Their water dish was also bone dry and I’m not sure how long that was which pissed me off. So I’m sure they were both dehydrated at some point. I got home so late that night that I wasn’t about to give her fluids because I’d never be awake enough to keep letting her out every hour like she needs to have done when getting fluids. I just cleaned up the floor as best I could at that point until I could rip out some of the tiles and use ammonia to really clean it up because it REEKED of pee!

Let me tell you if you have never used ammonia before it smells even worse! You definitely need to air the place out when you use that stuff. Either way I got the tiles up, used the ammonia on the floor underneath them because the brilliant people she had to fix the duplex before I moved in laid tile on top of tile which you don’t do people. I will eventually rip it all out and put down cheap fake wood floors because she isn’t going to pay for it. Anyway, after all of that it doesn’t smell anymore. Gee, had someone been over there like they said they would none of this would have happened to begin with. I even left instructions and that she would need to let them out quite frequently because of all of this as she is not working because she is studying to get her physical therapy license but noooooo.

I’m not even sure what I’ll do next year if she is still alive. I don’t think so but you never know. I’m definitely putting Stormy back in baby jail though. She could’ve gone last year and this year but I didn’t see the point when I had someone coming over to take care of Pepper who can’t really go to baby jail because she can’t hear nor see to a point. She can differentiate between light/dark for the most part. I have to flick the light on/off at night so she knows when to come in and during the day she can tell when I have the screen door open or I’ll stand on the back porch waving my hand to come in. And then there are other times when I have to walk out there to get in her line of vision to get her to come in.

Soooo, this past Friday morning like 1 AM there was a drive-by right in front of my place. It was a stolen vehicle from Wednesday night that was abandoned around the corner from me after they hit the duplex across the street and tread marks from another vehicle that sped off as they did a car swap as they abandoned the shooting vehicle. I heard all the shots. At first I thought it was gun fire, then at the end I thought it was fire crackers because there are still aholes around here shooting off fireworks. Then a couple minutes later I get a call from my neighbor to see if I was alright because the sheriff’s told her to call me since it was in front of my place. I then proceeded outside like everyone else on the street to see everything yellow taped off.

Two of the SUV’s across the street had been hit as well as the door and window from the place. The sheriff’s think it was drug related which I would believe because cars come and go like there aint no tomorrow from that place. No damage to my property or vehicle luckily. I counted 26 bullet casings so they had to have had a semi-automatic or two considering the short time that went down. These idiots are still on the lose.

Another day in the ‘hood.

Traveling Sucks

Kids today suck ass. This girl next to me refused to turn her effing iPhone off until I said something about it. Then when we’re getting ready to land she refuses to turn her effing iPad off. I mean really? That movie can’t wait until you get onto the next transportation – which I found out was another hop to wherever her effing destination was. Even one of the flight attendants asked her if the thing was off, when it wasn’t because she just had the cover on it, and she told him yes. *face palm*

Been at camp a couple days now. Got an aquatic ball war going on with a couple of the kids. One of the campers and myself are trying to finish that little war today in the pool after we talk to another camper about some bingo prizes he won last night lol. Got a few pictures but signal is horrendous so not sure I’ll be able to upload those anytime soon. It’ll be interesting to see how long it might take to upload just this post since it’s just text.

Weekly Update

Friday, June 7th, 2013 | Personal with Comments Off on Weekly Update

summercampSorry I haven’t been able to do any of the weekly memes. I have been slammed with 2 weeks of homework that I have to do in one week due to me taking the kids to kidney camp again this year. This happens every summer but for some reason I have an exceptional amount of homework in these 3 classes I’m taking. I’ve got most of it done but still have 3 baby quizzes, one cumulative exam, and a lab to do. The lab is easy peasy as you just follow the instructions and take screenshots which is the most time consuming. The quizzes are another matter all together. I already took one and it was 15 questions in 15 minutes. I mean WTF? One minute for each question? Holy shit. I still have to finish reading the chapters. Not sure how much I’m going to retain though.

I didn’t have to go to work today as the college closed all campuses for employees and students as of last night due to Tropical Storm Andrea. Nothing happened except rain people. Sure, some people lost power but nothing drastic like they always make things out to be. I slept in since I’m dead tired. Of course slept in meant around 8 AM oddly enough. I was up until 2 AM doing one lab last night. I’m always dead tired when I get back from camp too so it will be interesting to how well I function to do some other homework/quiz stuff I’m going to let wait until I get back because I just can’t cram it all in. I always let the instructors know about camp just in case I can’t seem to get it all done or I just become to fried to understand anything which is happening now. I may email the instructor about the cumulative exam and see if I can’t postpone that one because I’m not sure if I can do well on it at this point.

Chicken Pox x 3

Sunday, May 13th, 2012 | Health, Personal with 3 Comments

So apparently you can get chicken pox without spots. I finally went in for an eye exam apparently after 4 years I found out because I couldn’t see. My eyes were all red just like in the picture (even found some blue eyes which mine are) but I always attributed it lack of sleep since I don’t sleep at night. I’ve had red eyes for YEARS. They never itched though which they do now. It is actually only in my left eye and because of this I cannot wear contacts for at LEAST a month until this virus dissipates. Nothing to do but wait and let me tell you it is NOT fun wearing glasses. I DESPISE glasses. My eye sight is horrendous and my prescription jumped -0.5 in the left eye and -1.0 in the right eye so now I’m at -5.25 and -5.50 which is bad.

I had to get my eyeglass lens replaced urgently since I could not see out of them and you know what? I still cannot see out of them. The virus makes the left eye blurry so that cannot be fixed until after it is over and the cornea clears up. But my right eye? OMG. They are going to have to go stronger once I go back in a month to see if it has cleared up. Typing this right now I am so close to the monitor it is unreal. Driving is a bit tricky to say the least but you know what? I have no chauffer to cart me around. Working out sucks donkey balls too because the sweat drips down my face and my glasses fall down and then drops on the lens and because I have no peripheral vision anymore I can’t see the step sometimes.

This better clear up before I have to take the kids to camp or I will lose it. This is like the worst time for this to happen and the worst season too.

Oh and by the way, yes I had the real chicken pox twice as a child. Lucky me.
