What’s in my Walls?

That’s the question I’m trying to find the answer to. Right before last summer 4 houses got torn down across the street and everybody living next to them had a rat infestation. Well needless to say I had one rat which culminated into at least 3-4 because that one had babies and we had poison set out and the mother died. Then the babies were crawling around and my cat was a good mouser but she didn’t kill them, only wanted to play with them so I managed to nab one and chuck it outside. One got himself caught underneath my upstairs bathroom cabinet and died there so I had to rip out the bottom paneling to get it out but another one/two? who knows died in between the first and second floor somewhere near the kitchen and I couldn’t figure out where, boy did that stink for about a month but it was spring so I left the windows open. So anyway, I had a few holes in the exterior due to the house settling and the owner got all those fixed and put siding up so no more holes but now I hear and the dogs hear scurring in between those floors again. Haven’t a clue what it is nor where they’re getting in either.

  1. That’s gross –how did you live with the smell? Aren’t you afraid they’re going to bite you? I had a field mouse get into the house once (he slipped in from the garage) and it took us days to catch it. Finally my dog smashed it with his paw after I had it trapped in a room and it scurried out under the door and that was that.
