You’ve seen em, they make this one hit blast onto the tube and then you just have to get the album to see what the big fuss is considering you only get a chunk of the song in a 30 second commercial. So the new series of Nip/Tuck will be starting in September and the new commercial they have is with them sewing up a statue with Goldfrapp singing Strict Machine in the background. Then we also have the new Sprint LG Chocolate phone commercial sporting the same song. I’d say they probably got a huge boost in their sales. What do you think?

BlogMad hit…
Gotta love those One Hit Wonders.
Goldfrapp are better known in the UK altogether I think - mostly because they have been used by the advertising companies.
Yup, they probably will experience a boost, but it will probably be in the number of downloads and not actual sales.
They’re a fantastic band — been a fan forever.
They also used that band on So You Think You Can Dance. I didnt know they were unsigned though. Honestly I think it’s a good way to get signed. I dont know how much a deal is worth anymore though. The music game is changing.
