Folks have you ever tried to read an over 1000 page book in 3 weeks? Do you think its possible? Well, I’m here to tell you it is. Since I got my library card I have been catching up on all the new books I have been missing. Usually I’ll get 2 books and with the semi-big font I can get them done in 3 weeks. I thought this one was going to be a stretch and I’d have to go back to get another 3 weeks tacked on. I did it though and with 2 days to spare. It may have been the 2 days I had off. Anywhoo….

The book is great. It sort of reminded me about how Desperation was done but on a much larger scale. An entire town was blocked off from the rest of the world with an invisible wall put up by bored alien children. Of course it had to be a small town where one of the selectman bullied everybody and essentially ran the town once the one person who did not bow died which happened to be the sheriff. He had a pacemaker and getting close to the wall shorted out any electronics.

There was also a townie doctor who was so old and not that well versed in the medical field. He died in the first third of the book and all the misdiagnoses he made where more apparent in the rest of the book. I mean, how do you misdiagnose a brain tumor for migraines? No tests of course.

There happened to be an ex army guy in there who was the local cook who kept getting framed for everything going wrong and for the people who were being murdered.

You’ll have to read it to get all the other details and the ending of the book. I started digging around on the internet to see if it was going to be turned into a movie because it would be great but instead a tv mini series if I remember correctly. Hooray! They haven’t gotten the cast together yet but I’m definitely curious to see who they pick for the more prominent characters like Rennie, Junior, and Barbie.
