Went and saw this Friday night and oddly enough I don’t think the theatre was even half full. Don’t ask me what movie they might have been seeing because there really wasn’t that many people at the theatre to being with. I mean I ended up with a parking spot right up front at a 10 PM showing when normally I’m parking in Timbuktu.
***Spoilers ahead***
So Jessica Alba is a blind flutist. I don’t know if she learned to play for that movie or if she already knew how to play or if it was soo good faking it with someone else playing but dag it was good. She loses her sight from a fire as a child and has a failed transplant. She then goes back for another transplant which works but she has the side effect of seeing people dying and/or people who are already dead. Her eyes come from a girl in Mexico, where she then travels to find some relatives after badgering one of her physicians enough so that he will believe her. Well, come to find out her mother knew her daughter saw these visions and tried to help Alba as much as she could before she had a heart attack and died even though Alba could see it was going to happen and thought they got her to the hospital in time.
Well, the visions she kept seeing was a little girl in a fire and an explosion. It all comes together at the end when they are trying to cross the border back into the US and there is a high speed chase coming towards them when she starts piecing it altogether as she sees the same little girl in the camper, a bus full of children and a gas tanker. She gets everybody to safety but ends up getting her face covered with shattered glass that destroys her sight once again. Pretty intriguing movie.
Next up, Fool’s Gold this weekend as it comes out Friday so maybe Friday I will see it. Yes, I know it is a chick flick but I LOVE me some Matthew McConaughey. With him and Kate Hudson teaming up again, it has GOT to be good.

you know i actually wanted to see that before it even came out since I saw the original version (chinese) and loved it. although, as far as the reviews i’ve read on this, this version was quite a disappointment compared to the original, so now i’m thinking twice whether I’d spend $7 on it or just wait until the DVD comes out. my advice though: watch the original version. if you like this one, you’d love the chinese version even more.
I thought about going to see the movie but I’m not sure if I should go, or just wait until it’s on DVD.
I think I’ll wait for the DVD! Still would like to see it though.
