Strays

I really don’t understand how some people can’t keep track of their animals. There is a neighbor about two houses down and their animals are constantly getting out of the wood fenced yard and squirming underneath my chain link fence to hang out in my backyard. I heard that freaking dog this morning barking because the female is to stupid to figure out how to get out. This was about 8:00 AM when I was still trying to sleep. So I grab a blanket and open up the gate and try to get the damn dog out of the yard because mine want out to pea. She runs in circles away from me. So I’m walking around trying to get her to the gate to leave. 20 minutes later my feet are almost frozen because we had a cold snap overnight so I go in to get some shoes on and back out to get the stupid dog out. She gets near the gate twice standing right in front of the damn thing and I move toward her and she hauls ass back into the yard. I’m fed up now and go back in to get real clothes on to go to the neighbors house to yell at them and when I go out the front door I see the dogs gone. Whatever, I swear those animals need to come during the weekday so I can call the SPCA to pick them up and then fine the owners because they are always getting out. Because of this little activity for about an hour total I already have a feeling I’m going to get sick. We’ll see but I think it’s inevitable due to the fact that I have some wheezing and coughing.

The local SPCA is also trying to get a law passed stating that if they pick up your animal you will have to pay to get the animal spayed or neutered before you are allowed to have the animal back. Of course there are exceptions to this rule like it being a purebreed show dog or some other medical reason. Personally, I like this idea as there are way too many animals running around in the streets that nobody belongs to because the bad owners who do not keep track of their own animals will end up either impregnating or getting pregnant from other animals roaming around.

Oh you know there’ll be some bad feelings from pet owners if the spca ever enforces that… all kinds of pet owner rights marches, etc.

Ya, that’s a possibility but then on the otherhand, they wouldn’t have to pay that fee if they actually kept up with where there animals were.
