Sadly, I suck at saving money. It’s true. My savings account has the bare minimum to keep it open because it’s required by my bank to have one and my checking account has just enough money to pay my bills if I’m lucky. One good thing that has saved me a lot of problems is the fact that I do not have any credit cards. I know a lot of people who are severely in debt from credit cards and sometimes obtain a loan to pay off the high interest credit cards. Now eventually I want to buy a house but since my brother in law tanked my credit, I’m not sure I would qualify for a mortgage much less have the money for the home insurance that comes along with it. However, if I could start putting money away out of my paycheck then maybe they might overlook that and I could finally get out of the renters trap.
