I never understood how the DOT decides how many lanes interstates, highways, and any other roads should be. Sure some of it has to do with how many people live in the area and use it but come on…they can’t plan in advance? It is much easier to purposely make a road bigger to begin with than it is to expand a road. We are in the middle of yet another expansion on our interstate. It was 4 lanes, 6 lanes, 10 lanes to going to be 12 lanes in certain spots (one being the busiest exit ever).
What kills me is damage this does to our vehicles. I am so thankful I took the time to purchase the appropriate car insurance with windshield damage because I gotta tell you there is no way I have the money to replace it every few months which I currently have to do with all the rocks slamming into it. It’s due for another replacement now but I still have yet to call to do that because I’m trying to hold off as I see they are laying the cement now and I think it may be soon ending of the flying rocks. Honestly, with as many replacements as I’ve had I don’t even need to clean the inside of it because it’s time for a new one to be put in.
