Ready for School Yet?

School starts next week and for some they are still not ready. I know a few of my friends are not even going to think about shopping until the first day of school as they want the kids in school so they can go shopping without them. Overall I guess that makes sense if you have younger children. The older ones are a bit more picky and especially the college students because they do not want to have something ugly as they are most likely going to be sharing their dorm room with 1 or 2 other people. Luckily most of the parents ended up getting some electronics on the tax free weekend including the most important laptops and/or netbooks so the school work can be done. A microwave and possibly small fridge would be great to put in the room as well to keep snacks available.

The college students could even help pick out things online using the CampusReady website and have it shipped to the nearest local Sears store to the college the student is attending so they would not have to ship it themselves or bring it themselves. Sears is also teaming up with UPromise and a total of $25,000 will be awarded. I actually am a UPromise member so I could be entered automatically with a Sears.com purchase through UPromise.com or enter free at sears.com/campusready. I still need to finish my degree so maybe I can win it.

For all the facebook fanatics there is also the CampusReady app on Facebook. You can be your own dorm room designer and also find a dorm room roommate with the roommate matchup. This way you could possibly find somebody or a couple of people depending on how many have to share the dorm room/suite that are more compatible. We all know the horror stories of some peoples roommates and none of us want that.
