Why have them? They are mainly a waste of everybodies time and you probably don’t pay attention in them anyways. So I actually went to one of our meetings today and it had absolufreakinglutely nothing to do with me. It was on hiring procedures for nonfaculty. I just don’t understand why, if it has nothing to do with you or your division, why you have to be there. So I sat there and zoned. At the end of the meeting people had questions, annoying because I wanted out of there. Then someone spoke up and spewed out some lies. I woke immediately up because I used to work part-time for that division in addition to my full-time position in my current division and I was shocked. What came out of her mouth was “I am the only person over there who knows how to use Microsoft Word.” I was dumbfounded. She is in a research division and I know for a fact that each and every single researcher over there knows how to use Word because A) They write up their own manuscripts IN WORD which they had to give to me before they submitted them because I had to pay the fees. B) They write up their own grants IN WORD which again had to come to me. and C) They write up and keep updated their own CV’s IN WORD which yet again had to come to me when I needed them for the NIH grants. So how does she get off saying that? And you know what her previous job to working at the hospital was? Babysitting. You can come to your own conclusions now on how she got the job.

Meetings are suppose to be productiive, however the majority put everyone in a coma- extremely boring-. I say all meeting should be held outside of the company in a more relaxing enviroment
