I swear if I could bring myself to go the stores more often I’d probably chose the lay-away options for Christmas as it spreads out your spending before the month even gets here and you do not feel like you are racing around to get presents or spending a huge amount of money in one whack leaving yourself short in other places perhaps because you want to make sure you get the gifts for the people you have on your list.
There used to be a K-Mart right down the road from me that I actually did not mind shopping at and would frequent the store at least 3 times a week to buy things. It was not too crowded, I knew the layout and most importantly it was right down the road. I liked using the Kmart Lay-Away so close to home because I could zip in and make my payments on the way home from work and not have to go out of my way which is what I would have to do now that that K-Mart is closed.
Since money is tight this year though I need to get my lazy butt on over to the Super K-Mart in the next town and try to find some gifts for the family as well as a new computer monitor as shown for myself. If you can believe it, I’m still using an old IBM 22″ CRT monitor and the sucker hasn’t failed me in well over a decade but it is time to scale down a smidge. Might solve my issue of just getting gift cards which I’m usually known for too.
I remember some years back I used the lay-away at K-Mart and bought myself a nice marquise cut ruby and diamond bracelet for Christmas. Still have it and still wear it but not on a day to day basis because that was an expensive gift to myself I would not have otherwise been able to buy outright because I am one of those people who do not own credit cards which is why I like this option.
