I know of 1 friend who would higher me without a degree and he is in a position to do that but I most likely wouldn't get what I could if I had a degree and it would not be a heck of a lot more than I make now at the hospital. As for myself, I've been working in the software development industry for nearly 6 years, without any qualification, and strangely enough I've always been employed :smile: I guess in SA it really depends on the size / type of company which you want to work for, because I know some of the people at my current company might have qualifications, but not at all relevant to their jobs here, and still they're excellent at it. One day however, I still want to do at least a diploma in something IT related. I've found that when trying to immigrate to either New Zealand or Australia, a qualification is absolutely essential.
