Mine has thanks to helping a family member get a boat which he screwed me on and it got repoed. So now my credit is in the crapper for 7-10 years only IF I’m lucky. Luckily I bought my car before this happened and this should help my credit go back up slowing because I make my monthly payments on it.

However, if you have bad credit, you can get Bad Credit Auto Loans and still be able to get a car financed. Sometimes it is not our fault that we have bad credit. Well then again I guess I was the dumb one for helping out a family member but that is what you are supposed to do right? Well other than that you could have bad credit from someone stealing your information and getting you in debt that way. Then there are other ways like medical problems and lack of work, the list could go on and on but it can be overcome. It will just take some time.

Make sure you check your credit report yearly as this can help save you from identity theft. You can do this with the free credit reports that are out there. I know one of the big ones I use is Equifax. If you have alot of credit that you want to try to pay off as fast as possible and have high interested rates you could try getting a free debt consolidation review. This will help you combine all of your credit cards and/or loans into one lump sum at lower interest rates and 1 monthly payment.

If you have gotten a loan before your credit went bad, you should go back to the same place because they will look back in your history and see that you made monthly payments even though you have bad credit now. So bad credit loans are possible but might be at a higher interest rate.
