Halloween Party and Cooking

So Friday I had off and slept most of the day away because I knew I was going to be up all night for the Halloween Party at the bar. Boy was it wild. Some of the hilights were Osama Bin Laden, BOB (battery operated boyfriend), Stewie and Quagmire, the usual cheerleaders and vampires and such. There was a few bands for live entertainment but they weren’t all that good in my opinion. Either way it was a fun time for all. It’s always amazing how you have to shout to be heard once you leave the place though because we were heading downstairs to chat on the porch before leaving and the owner was telling us “shhh” the cops have been by 3 times now and the next time he’ll get shut down. Well most of us were quiet except one person and we kept telling her shhh but it didn’t sink in (she was blitzed) so we went to get something to eat at 2:30 in the morning which makes me wonder why I don’t use my crock pot more often to have something warm when I get home instead of eating out.

I made chili in the crock pot Saturday night and it got me to thinking how often I don’t cook because it’s a hassle with just me. I could throw stuff in that crock pot and leave it on all day and have a nice healthy home cooked meal everyday if I plan ahead.

How many of you actually cook for the family when you get home from work or where ever? Do you eat out more than you cook at home?

I normally come home to an empty house, so I only cook on the weekends (which I feel is good enough). And my fiance and I normally share the cooking responsibility because, frankly, he’s better at it than me. But during the week, dinner normally consists of something like a can of soup and a glass of milk. Nothing too involved.

Ya sadly I just come home to my dogs so I end up having cereal or a sandwich. I managed to get some beef stew in the cooker this morning before work so it’ll be done by the time I get home tonight.
