You know kids today as well as adults probably do not get as much exercise as we should. Even I know I probably do not get as much as I should even though I am on the treadmill 5 times a week. Work and other things get in the way. But you can always squeeze some time to do play with your friends like during lunch or just taking a break. When I was in high school I remember only a few kids playing hacky sack because it really was not that popular. Even today where I live, I cannot remember the last time I saw someone playing. It’s great exercise and gets the kids/big kids out in the nice weather that we are having. Heck and with the multitude of colors/prints on the footbag itself, you can bring out your own style. It would also be an excellent game to play while at the beach and let’s face it, beach time around here is essential and practically all year round because our winters really aren’t winters.
Hacky sack has come a long, long way. I have never tried it myself but I would assume it would be more difficult than soccer considering the footbag is a lot smaller than a soccer ball so you will need much more eye/foot coordination control. It has become so popular these days that there are World Footbag Championships. Ya, who knew? If you are visiting down in Florida in August, you might even be able to catch some of it at Disney. There are camps if you would like to learn or send your kids to learn how to play if they are interested in it. Essentially what it boils down to is the fact that even the the most trivial of games to us can be some of the most popular sports out there so go get your game on!!

I played hacky sack when I was a kid, it was pretty fun. I never really got very good at it, due to lack of practice…
