Working at a hospital should give me no excuses not to be up to date on all the current procedures and health maintenance opportunities for any disease. Not only that but all the help one can get especially when working at a hospital. With that being said I have been at the hospital now for 18+ years and about 2 years ago I had finally had enough of me being overweight and went to our Weight Management center and did something about it. Now do not get me wrong I was being somewhat active because with a hospital covering a few square blocks one cannot help but walk the halls as shown above but that alone was not doing it for me. I prefer having a structured routine and keep to it which I do now. I certainly would like to lose a few more pounds but I may have hit my limit now. We’ll see after varying my routines more.
Either way we can all be active in the community and help benefit ourselves for being active and women all over the country who are in the Breast Cancer Network of Strength. How might we do this? Well simply put by being active. Right now BeeWell Miles backed by Bumble Bee Foods is raising money for the Breast Cancer Network by us logging our miles either by running or walking on their website. I was kindly given a pedometer to log the miles I have been putting on the website and I’m happy to report still staying active. Bumble Bee Foods will donate $0.15/mile for every mile logged at BeeWellMiles.com (up to $200,000) which is worthwhile if you ask me because any one of us could have breast cancer whether it be male or female. Don’t think that the men can get out of this because they are a small minority who have it as well.
While over on BeeWellMiles.com I registered so I could log in my miles from 4/1/09 through 10/31/09 and help increase the total donations. You can use a pedometer and log specifically your miles or you can put the information in using time and the website will convert it for you but essentially 2000 steps equals 1 mile. If some are serious about losing some weight while helping a cause the site will give you some support via the forum and a daily calories section to put in the meals you have eaten daily. As a bonus, each day you log in your miles or codes from the Bumble Bee cans you could instantly win one of 15,000 prizes.
As a final note and I cannot stress this enough. When your aerobic shoes, tennis shoes, or whatever shoes you use to work out in start losing some of the foam where the heels are for the love of everything replace them. I ran 2 miles today on the treadmill and now have a blister back there because I walked 2-3 more uphill after running.

I SO need to get back on the exercise wagon, I’ve become a slug! It’s pretty sad when a trek through the grocery store can ware me out!
I agree with you about the shoes too, I’m guilty of wearing exercise shoes way past their usefulness.
