Just a few days ago it was $60.00/barrel and now has come down to around $57.00/barrel. It’s only a matter of time before it goes back up again and yet we have barrels upon barrels of oil socked away somewhere that the government doesn’t want to touch. I’ve found a few items which claim to be able to save on gas while driving at http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2004/05/21/196016.html
1. Keep your car maintained and tires inflated – no brainer.
2. Drive the speed limit and avoid aggressive driving – have you even driven in rush hour down south? If your not aggressive on your driving your gonna get rammed for sure.
3. Combine errands and avoid idling through drive-through lanes – okay well if I want to wait in my air conditioned car for a taco instead of getting out in the humidity for a few minutes to sweat to death then that’s my choice.
4. Travel light (Carrying an extra 100 lbs makes your vehcile work harder) – so the cars going to drive itself then? I know I don’t have anything extra in my car. It’s almost a guarantee that the person driving is going to weigh at least 100 lbs.
5. More vehicle maintenance.
Holiday weekends are big gas guzzling weekends as everybody wants to get away. I’ll bet they raise the prices just because they know this happens too. Don’t get ripped off and stay safe this holiday weekend!
