1. How do you pronounce manicotti? Men-e-got, man-i-cotti or some other way?
Man-i-cotti – but what it is I have no idea.
2. What do you call the carbonated drink that comes in a bottle? Soda, tonic, pop, fizzy or something else?
Soda. I think the northern peoples are the only ones who call it pop and I remember on the floor one of the nurses asked the child if he wanted a pop and the kid freaked, cringed, and said I didn’t do anything wrong. He thought he was going to get smacked cuz that’s what pop means down here in the south.
3. What do you call a sandwich on a long roll? Sub, grinder, hoagie, hero, po boy or something else?
It’s a sub of course.
4. Do you call it broth, boullion or stock? How do you make chicken stock?
Broth. I buy a box, pull the tab to open the seal and pour

I have never heard a northerner say “pop.” I tend to think this word is generational. I have heard southerners say “pop,” but they were older folks. I like learning things like this, though.
LOL about the broth. Ditto.
Manicotti are large tubes of pasta which are typically filled and baked. As a New Orleans boy, I know that po-boys are quite different from subs, grinders, etc. (It’s all in the bread– real New Orleans French bread is quite different from grinder rolls.)
Uh oh, we call it “pop” here. Can you tell I’m from the north??
