Now why they left this cat up in the tree to begin with knowing he/she was up there is beyond me, but at least he/she lived without any broken bones, albeit he/she might have some serious height issues now lol
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. – Piper the cat may have used up a life or two but was unharmed after falling nearly 80 feet from a tree.

She had been in the tree for eight days when a rescuer started up to save her Monday. But a scared Piper crept away until the limb underneath her snapped.

She fell 80 feet, twisting and turning in the air before slamming onto the ground. It looked like a catastrophe, but Piper wasn’t even dazed, scampering off before her owner Rodney Colvin could catch her.

Piper was found a few minutes later under a vehicle. Her owner said she had no broken bones and was only a little dehydrated.
This cat was run up the tree by a neighbor dog.

Wow! Thanks for posting such an amazing story! I actually heard that cats are better off when they fall long distances rather than shorter, because they have a chance to right themselves before landing.

Just for the record, we tried everything within our power to get Piper out of that tree. We did not “leave her up there”. We called 50+ organizations to ask for help and my husband wanted to climb the tree himself but our neighbor was concerned about liability issues. We spent hours everyday at the base of this tree trying to coax her down. This was NO SMALL TREE! I do not want anyone thinking we left her up there! Thank you.
