Fish Suicide

So about 2 weekends ago I finally took the few hours to clean out the 30 gallon fish tank and put it all back together because it was just looking nasty and honestly I’m surprised the 2 fish I had in there managed to stay alive.

So I went to the local fish store only because I didn’t want to travel the distance for the one I normally go to because they blow regular pet stores out of the water and it is WAY much better quality of everything because they are tedious about it all. Anyways, I got some new water plants and some more tetra and an albino red tail shark. I forgoed the algae eaters because I have the plants now and I “lose” them anyways. Them and catfish. I don’t know where they go but they disappear. No remnants on the floor around the tank either. It’s a mystery to me. Anyways, I got home last night and the shark decided to try to commit suicide because he had his tail almost cut in half. I can only assume he tried to get out where there is a hole where the heater is or the air bubble thing. The only decent thing to do was to give him a decent burial flush.

Poor fish… From what you’ve said about his tail, and the algae eaters I’m wondering if your tank is haunted…

We need to restock our fish tank sometime. We are down to 2 Neon tetras, and an evergrowing Red tailed shark :)
