How many of you own cell phones?

Now, how many of you use ICE in your address book?

What, don’t know what it is? ICE = in case of emergency listing

Yep, when EMS comes to get you from an accident or stupidity, however it may be, they will search your address book in your cell phone for a listing of ICE so they know who to call as your in case of emergency especially if you are by yourself hurt or just passed out drunk somewhere. Saves you from having things done while in the hospital especially if you do not want them done or if you have plans for your body other than organ donation and do not have a card on you.

You know, now that I think about this, maybe there should be something in there about allergies too because I don’t wear a band about mine and I am allergic to some pretty common stuff they would use. Of course if they have that ICE number and get a hold of someone, then they could find those things out immediately. Do it now peoples.

  1. Hi, it’s Snoskred here. I’ve recently become a blogging chick and have set myself a challenge to comment on as many Blogging Chick blogs as I can. So that’s why I’m here. ;)

An excellent plan, I’ve done it already. What a lovely blog you have here. :)

  3. Are the EMS teams actually taught and trained to check a person’s cell phone in case of emergency? If thats the case it is actually a smart thing -makes sense since they do check wallets and purses for ID.The only problem is that most of us lock our cell phones and they won’t be able to access the phone book. But I think I will take your smart advice it certainly can’t hurt anyway.

  4. I heard a few months ago you should label one of your phone numbers on your cell phone ICE. Also keep a list of contact numbers in your wallet or pocket book.
