Working Programs

You know working at the hospital they are always coming up with some new programs that are supposed to help us do our jobs better, easier and more efficiently but I have to say if they do not actually ask for input before doing any of the work it will not come out well received. What annoys me even more is when the programs are written for a specific browser that I also cannot stand using. And actually, if you want to get right down to it, even the e-mail program was hand picked to use recently. I mean what exactly is it coming to when you cannot even use a friendly e-mail program?

Being able to use a Business Process Management Software like Lombardi’s lets you customize what is important to your job and functional purposes, not everybody in general, because lets face it that does not always work. I actually made a hack version of some database in a program once that I ended up deleting it was so bad because there was no program comparable to what I was needing at the time. With this, you can use it across a wide variety of platforms which include insurance invoicing, sales, mortgage, medical, and self-service just to name a few. There are customer case studies via the downloads page as well as some product brochures.

IronMan to Sherlock Holmes

That’s right folks. Robert Downey, Jr is now switching gears to be Sherlock Holmes. Not sure when this movie is going to come out but I can’t wait because I can see this part so clearly for him and I’m excited.

Now just yesterday Hellboy II came out from the creators of Pans Labyrinth and I can’t wait to go watch it tomorrow. Last night and today is just not feasible given time wise so tomorrow it is. I rewatched Hellboy on FX the other night so I’m ready

Four Foods on Friday #37

Time to learn more food facts according to me. If you are not interested you can move along. As always be sure to check out Fun Craft and Recipes to join each week and to spread the news so others might join as well.

I didn’t realize there was still one going on during the 4th and I was on vacation so I missed it. I’m not really sure I could’ve come up with anything from those questions anyways but here is this weeks funtastic answers.

1. Cake. Buttercream, whipped cream or ice cream?
Ooo this is a toughy, can I have all three? No? Okay, gimme buttercream icing then perty please.
2. When entertaining do you use real, paper, plastic or styrofoam dishes?
Can’t say as I have entertained but when I go to other folks’ places they’ll use real stuff if it is a small group and plasticware with styrofoam dishes if it is a big group.
3. When hosting a party do you cook, have it catered or go to a restaurant?
Well since I have never hosted a party, well unless you consider a football party with about 5 friends? I made the food. Other parties I have been to have either been made or catered. Sometimes we’ll take a party to a restaurant.
4. Share a recipe that you frequently serve when having a party.
During the football party I made finger items, hamburgers, chicken strips, wings, etc.

Okay, I did watch this over the weekend, because I couldn’t use my free pass for Hancock, but I’m just now getting around to the review because some shit has gone down that I’ve had to deal with. I gotta say it was pretty good. I have always found Downey to be an excellent actor when he was blitzed out of his mind or not. Hopefully he can stay true and get more roles so I can watch him. From some of the comics I saw it looked to be right but then again I haven’t read that many of them and it has been some time since I even picked one up. I loved that one seen where the machines are taking off his suit and Pepper walks in and he’s like Oh come on, you’ve seen me in worse positions than this. Definitely go see it.

So I went to go watch Wanted with Angelina Jolie today and I really wanted to punch the dudes face in during some parts of that movie because it irked me so bad but overall I’d say you could wait to see it on DVD unless you are really into seeing Jolie’s nekkid back side with all of her tattoos and then some they painted on.

What I managed to score was a free movie ticket because I try to always use my Regal Cinema Card to get the points and this time round I got my free movie. So tomorrow I’m going to go watch Hancock if I can use it. Otherwise I may watch Ironman because I still haven’t seen it.

Camping

You know every summer we have our kidney camp, Camp Okawehna. I send usually about 5 of our kids with a nurse or an appropriate adult to fly with them to Tennessee for a week and literally camp out the old style way with wall tents, sleeping bags on run of mill cots and then the lovely water bug and tick issue. They have tons of activities though and I can’t wait to do a few of them including the water slides, somewhat like bungee jumping but you’re just hanging around on the cords.

I tell you though, the kids have a blast and this year I was going to go but my boss got it that he wanted a man to go because there are few male counselors and we have a male nurse in the clinic but unfortunately he could not go. We had gotten a new female nurse in and when she heard about it she pretty much flipped over going and I’m like good lord go then. Next year I’m going no questions about it because I’m the one who does the paperwork and pays for everything anyways from the donations I get from drug companies or private donations.

It is funny too because some of the kids parents I ask every year if they want to go and they are like no they have never been away from home. I think sometimes the parents are the ones who have separation anxiety lol I know 2 of the parents are like give me the paperwork now for next year because they ship them off to every single camp they can. After talking with one of the parents last week to change an appointment because this one child was actually going to Victory Junction Camp, which is the Nascar camp in North Carolina, I mentioned our camp in Tennessee and she’s like well if you go then I’ll let him go. I guess sometimes they will let go.

Vacation Week

And it sorta sucks. I was bored after Monday even though I actually went to the beach and to my bosses house to use his pool since he was only a few streets from the beach, hit the gym and met some friends up at Brecks. Tuesday/Wednesday I worked 4 hours and hit the gym and now today I don’t have anything to do nor for tomorrow. I know I’m going to watch Wanted and Hancock today and tomorrow and go to the gym. Can’t go back to the beach because I got toasted while I was in the pool. Damn reflections.

Still waiting for the owner of my duplex to fix the mold problem in my utility room. Not sure how long that is going to take but its spreading fast due to the heat. And she even knows its coming from her side due to the water heater being right there as well as her washer/dryer. This is insane.

Put the Car in One Way

Get the car out another way. That’s what happened when my car went into the shop to get fixed from that accident. It looks beautiful by the way but I found out 2 days later that my horn from inside the car doesn’t work when I almost got side swiped going into work which would have culminated the use of another car rental.

Now it really bothers me that I cannot get a manual car rental because that is what I drive. I nearly floored the car and ran over the owner because I was thinking clutch and gas. Of course I probably should have pulled the seat all the way back too because it was right up underneath the steering wheel. There are some short people out there. I was more concerned about driving the mile back to my house so I could get out of the vehicle because it reeked. I mean really, no animals or smoking in the vehicle and it still smelled? Maybe they ought to ban kids because I can guarantee you that my dogs are more well behaved and clean than some kids are in the car. Either way, make sure you get your rentals from Advantage which I have used many times before through work for the physicians especially with there 50% discount on Luxury and Convertible car rentals which I would have loved to be driving around in for the sake of at least fresh air and of course enjoying our sunny weather.

1. Name one cookbook, cooking website or food blog that you frequently use.
I live over at the foodtv.com site because I sit and watch the foodnetwork lol Gotta get the recipes to butcher up in my own home you know. Although that mac & cheese recipe is the bomb.
2. Do you watch any cooking shows on tv? Which ones?
30 Minute Meals, Iron Chef, Alton Brown, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, tons of them.
3. Are you in a cooking rut? Name a food or dish that you’d like to find a recipe for.
Not really a rut, more of a lack of enthusiasm when its only me.
4. Share a recipe created by somebody else that you haven’t tried but would like to.
I get Diet & Nutrition Magazine and they had some berry smoothies as it were that I wouldn’t mind trying. One was a kiwi flavor and the other was plum.

Storms Suck

So yesterday was like any other fricken Saturday as of late, mow lawns (yes that’s lawns), work while doing laundry, go to the gym and head off to Brecks to finish off the night. I get home to check my emails but I can’t no internet connection. We did have some storms earlier in the day but I didn’t really think anything of it at the time because I have a fricken UPS. I call my service to check the router because I can’t get to the homepage which is never good. They can’t access it either so I plug in just the modem, they can see it but nothing else so I get my tablet and start the process all over again. My router and ethernet card on the desktop are toast. I’m pissed because its like 11:30 PM and I have to work at 10 AM this morning at home of course. I head off to fricken Wal-Mart and end up meeting one of my friends who I left at Brecks and we chatted some more and I go looking for an ethernet card which they only had 1 of and it was opened. No way in hell I’m buying that and they don’t have any more? That’s messed up. I trek over to the other Wal-Mart and get one and come back to put it in and call the service back so they can add that MAC address. The girl I ended up getting was about stupid. She says it’s working and I tell her its not the MAC address she has is for my tablet and she’s like I don’t know what a tablet is. Is she kidding me? I got it all working around 1:30 AM by then because I couldn’t just let it sit until the morning. I’m anal like that. Now I need to go scouring ebay for another router and find the paperwork for my UPS because its got a warranty for up to $100,000.
