Fall is Almost Upon Us

As I was getting up yet again this morning for work it was chilly outside, so much so that it was almost downright hot in my place yesterday morning because I ended up pushing the thermostat up to 78 because it was so cold inside. I actually had to wear a light coat which is all I have at the moment until I can buy a real one that fits because it was in the 60s. Sure, fall starts Monday, but these temps are below average for us and freezing us out. That being said, people will start having oyster roasts in the fall like having pig roasts in the summer on the weekends. It is not some small production either, it is huge. Sometimes some of the oyster roasts you go to you have to pay a cover charge. That might not be to bad if I can find a pearl in an oyster to compensate me. Only few and far between do people find pearls in their oysters though so you have to go to the store and buy some if you want them.

I never was one for pearls though, I have a passion for rubies but then I like the odd looking reds that they come in especially the lighter colors. If not rubies, then aquamarines because it is again a light color stone almost see through and it picks up the light really well and plays it off with a lot of beautiful colors. I never was one for the standard shapes either. I like the unique beads like a tear drop shape as shown in the aquamarine variety. Elegant and simple. I know jewelers probably look for wholesale gemstone beads because customers will request odd shaped stones for rings and necklaces as presents and they turn out beautifully. Just having one of those tear drop stones in a setting for a necklace would shine. If I had the money I’d buy myself another Christmas gift of jewelry but I don’t at the moment.

  1. It’s been chilly here in the mornings too and I love it! Just right in the house and then I walk my daughter out as she leaves for school and it’s chilly, but such a wonderful change. I’ve been taking my coffee outside in the morning and drinking it, just enjoying the crispness in the air.

  3. Fall and beads, my two favorite things in one post! I’ve been enjoying the cooler mornings too. And today was a glorious afternoon, almost no humidity, it makes such a difference when the humidity drops. I can’t wait for sweater weather to arrive at my house!
