Drivers are Lame

So last night a friend and I were headed downtown for some dinner and drinks. I was driving. I was in the fast lane as I always am and cannot for the life of me understand why some people stay in that lane when they have no business. I could complain about this on a daily basis but last night really tweaked me. This out of stater was in front of me first and he/she moved into the middle lane and I moved on down the road when they went all the way to the right lane to come clear across back into the fast lane in front of me and then slow up. Really?? He moves back over to the far right lane to get back off.

I move down the road again. Then I’m behind somebody in an SUV who thought it would be cute to keep slamming on the brakes because they did not want to move into the middle lane. So be it, I moved into the middle lane to go around them. It was an effin girl on the phone. What a freaking moron.

Back into the left lane moving down the road when I end up behind somebody in a Honda I believe, don’t really remember but they were jackasses. They stayed in the left lane, I went into the middle lane to get around them when they keep speeding up to match me so I could not get back into the left lane. WHAT THE EFF?? Why are people such jackasses?? This went on until the interstate ended downtown.

What was the prize for arriving at your destination 1 minute early? Pick a lane and stay in it. Changing lanes just slows down every driver as they have to adjust for the change in situation. Next tiem you drive, pick out an easy identifiable vehicle that you consider slow moving. There is a good chance you will see them multiple times on your trip as you speed up and then slow down.

The lady on the cell phone has no excuse, as it’s illegal in my state to talk while driving. I yell and scream at these people too. It’s complete disregard for the law. Pull over and talk if it’s so important.

As for the others, the rule used to be “keep right, pass left”. So you shouldn’t be passing on the right.

The only thing I was thinking as I read that was why do you have to drive so fast? You sound like a dangerous driver to me, you must have a real lead foot.

turnip: If I so choose to do 68 versus 65, that’s my prerogative. They weren’t even doing 65 so exactly what was the point in being in the fast lane to begin with. It was not rush hour so there was no excuse for these people to be in the fast lane if they are not even going to do the speed limit. And to actually speed up because I was trying to pass is just bad drivership if you ask me because they should not have been there to begin with.

Laura: I took a driving course, all the accidents I have been in have been other people hitting me. i have no speeding tickets either. I AM a safe driver. It’s the other people who don’t know how to drive you have to watch out for.

Oooh I feel your frustration on this post .. I had a hell-ish day on the roads yesterday and no amount of yelling at imbeciles seemed to work !

Like you, I prefer to drive in the fast lane, and unfortunately in Mumbai – it seems that NO ONE understands the rules of the lanes ! You have some of the slowest, most idiotic drivers on the fast lane who have the nerve to pull up again next to you if you pass them from the left and shout that you passed them ! it’s like ‘buddy if you can’t drive at the speed limit – don’t block the fast lane’ !!!

The worst thing is that people are not only on the phone, they are busy trying to multi-task; and then to top it off the road is full of people crossing when the lights are still green for the cars; no one uses the zebra crossing (wait who am I kidding – they don’t exist); cows / animals on the roads; and bikers with families of 4 and 5 on their bikes !!! Now that’s sheer frustration if you ask me !

Sorry for the rant – but I know you’re gonna feel me here !
