Many people think cooking is a choir. Well, at times it can be and when you live alone it just becomes a nuisance in my opinion because you really are only pleasing yourself and I’m pretty sure my dogs don’t care what I cook so long as they can taste some of it. Now one of my exes was a chef and that was fantabulous because he liked to cook and of course I’m not going to say no dear let me when he could whip up some spectacular dishes. His specialty was Italian cuisine
The weekend of October 16th and 17th, the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel is hosting a Cooking School. I have actually always wanted to take a few cooking classes but tend to stay away from them only due to the fact that meats aren’t something I would be able to do. Maybe I could try the pastry side of it. That might be better unless they have an only chicken and pork class *snicker*.
The package price for Friday and Saturday evening for two is $398.00 plus tax. This includes a wine tasting and four-course dinner with a cooking demonstration by Chef Nathan Read. The menu for each of these day and night events is already available and I have to say I am impressed. The Saturday dinner which includes a Smoked Potato and Ham Soup, Berkshire Pork Porterhouse, and Apple Normandy sounds excellent. Not only do you get to eat the mouth watering food though you learn to prepare it during Sundays class. I would have to take a spin off of the Apple Normandy though and prepare it using some sort of berries as cooked apples are not my favorite. Once all the eating and cooking is finished though I would need a day to walk along their river for some exercise. The up and downs of good food is the weight it could possibly bring on if you eat too much of it but being on vacation would exclude all of that right?
