I am not sure if you have been keeping up with the tax deal that has been trying to get passed. It is not that we will get a discount of sorts but to actually keep the tax rate the same as it is now for everyone. In this deal though there is something called the estate tax or death tax as it were where over and under a certain amount of money the families are dealt a tax rate to pay on whatever items are left to the families from the deceased. Now what I cannot understand is this: We pay taxes on everything now. Why must the recipients of the deceased accounts have to pay taxes again? It is just not right. You’d almost have to start selectively dividing everything up before you go to maybe avoid some of the taxes but you would have to have a crystal ball to know when that is.

Elderly people have enough to worry about including obtaining burial insurance for seniors. I’d want to make sure that once I am gone that I have plans laid out for what to do with my body so I would not have to burden my family. They would already be distraught as it is. At least I would hope so once I’m gone. Sadly, this could happen even before I reach that senior age and I should make sure I contact Allstate or go to BurialInsurance.org and obtain a quote for some insurance to make sure all of this would be covered after my demise. I’m betting quite a few of us are out there have not even bothered to think about any of this because we think we have years before anything will happen to us. Hopefully that is true but one cannot account for a freak accident. I mean I have life insurance but does that really cover anything once I’m gone? I have no idea because honestly I have never read it. I just signed up for it when I started at the hospital 20 years ago. I couldn’t tell you even how much it is worth at this point which is sad.

I love aloe plain and simple. It is the first thing I go for after hitting the beach or pool because I like my skin soft and smooth. So I heard through the grapevine that the university was going to make it mandatory for every single person working here to have a flu shot. Whether you actually see patients or not makes no difference. I’d like to see them try to give me one. I think flu shots are a crock of shit just like the Gardasil vaccines they toot. These shots do not prevent you from getting sick so why say they will. People get sucked into believing anything. I also know quite a few people who have become deathly ill after receiving the flu shot too who also refuse to get them anymore.

So let’s review the punishment as it were if you do not receive a flu shot. You have to wear a mask for whatever they deem to be the length of “flu season”. That’s all well and good but who is going to check up these people to see if they truly are wearing a mask? I don’t see this one happening. Also, if you think about it, that’s infringing on a person rights. I could also see some lawsuits happening if they make a big stink about it too. What’s next mandatory sterilization? They can bite me for all I care.

Working in the medical field you see all sorts of disabilities whether physical or mental. What some of us do not realize is how the physical affects the mental and how difficult it is to do day to day outings such as grocery shopping when you may not have the access to transportation that you or I would normally never even think about.

Take my boss for instance. He is in a wheelchair. His only mode for transportation to and from anywhere is a customized van to load and unload his wheelchair. Recently he had some issues with the wheelchair battery not holding a proper charge and then the lift in the van broke. What irked me and totally ticked off his wife the most about the situation was the fact that the company who installed the lift tried to push him off saying they could not fix it anymore because the original installer was no longer with the company. Apparently this company absorbed the smaller company as they were only on contract at one point. Now how can a company say that when this is vital for him to get around? I won’t even get into when his elevator broke at the house and his house is elevated.

We seem to have an NMEDA dealer in the area and I will have to mention it to them in case they want to look for another company. It looks like this store is one of the Quality Assurance Program dealers as they offer structural vehicle modifiers and mobility equipment installers which is what they would need as their lift is already installed. Plus if/when the need arises and they buy a new van they can to go them for the installation of a new lift and not have to worry about the original installers being bought out.

Yes folks one can have too much sun at any given time. I was outside yesterday in the pool for HOURS. Normally this is not an issue for me but when you forget to reapply sunscreen from getting in and out of the pool you pay for it and boy am I paying for it. I’m almost purple in some spots from all that damn sun. I must have used enough sunscreen on my tattoos though because those didn’t get any sun at all as I was using the SPF 50. Sun will fade tattoos in case you did not know.

Anywhoo, just thought I’d share and hopefully the pain will go away soon. I’m all lotioned up in the meantime and will stay that way for a few days.

On an aside: Who’s ready to watch Iron Man 2 this Friday? I AM and will be off to do just that lol I have to take the dogs to get their puppy jail shots before the movie first though. Gonna sneak in some twizzlers to eat too maybe.

If you happen to be some of the lucky few, you have no need for contacts or eyeglasses. However, I’m sure there are plenty of people like me who have to have these in order just to see a foot in front of your face. Quite annoying if you ask me. The cost is the only thing that hinders me from obtaining it because I am a candidate for it. I would love to be able to wake up and be able to see everything without having to worry about contacts or glasses. I’m actually scared traveling because I can’t afford to lose any of that and keep it with me in a backpack with all of my electronic equipment and accessories because, lets face it, your baggage may not make it with you to your destination.
