I don't know if you remember when Google had the notebook way back when. I used to save website addresses to that thing all the time and come back to them later as I was not sure I wanted them to take up space in my bookmark list yet and no matter which computer I was at I would have access to it online to be able to add more when I came across them.

With clipix I can now do the same thing but with better functions if you ask me. It has screen shots of what the website actually is which annoyed me about saving in notebook/notepad so half the time I wouldn't remember what it was about from perusing the URL's. I can also make some of the blocks private to only my eyes or open for everyone or just friends. Makes for a sort of wish list if you open it up to everyone. You can share them on Facebook or Twitter as well as sign up with either of those services or just your email.

It is really simple and fast. Just add the clip button to your bookmarks toolbar and whatever site you want saved just click it. It pops up with a window for you to choose where you would like it and an option to change the picture associated with it from whatever pictures are available on the website. Just be careful when you go through the panels you see above with the X because I accidently deleted an entire panel thinking I was just going to delete the one item I thought I had hilighted. Whoops. There is an iPhone app currently in which you just take pictures of things you see to get them added to the panels.

Some of the uses I see this for are my extensive list of ebooks I want to buy, items I think might be good for gifts for others as well as myself, shopping lists, places I'd like to visit, etc. I am sure you could come up with more uses as well. Clipix is on Facebook and Twitter to keep you up to date on what is happening with the service. Check it out for yourself and see how it could start streamlining some of your lists.

Well, It’s Gotten Worse

Apparently a real plumber came to the property today to check out the leak and of course more wall came down after moving and unhooking my washer and dryer. A lot of water damage to the wood and more mold going down the wall that we couldn’t see because of my washer. Apparently the water is leaking from atop the water heater because she did not have a plumber to put it in. Now mind you this is the 3rd water heater she has had to purchase because hers keep failing for whatever reason.

So now there is a fan blowing air in the hole to dry out the wood as they have some makeshift crap going on to get the water to go on the cement which now puddles everywhere. I mean at least it’s not INSIDE my place. Luckily my utility room is outside the house which I actually don’t like but now I’m glad it is there. I was also told by the owner that the plumber told her she would need to replace some of the 2 x 4′s too. That’s not gonna be cheap but while they are at it fixing the wall back up maybe they ought to actually put a firewall up between the properties like there is supposed to be to begin with.

Construction Going On

And it’s not by choice either. Apparently the owners side is falling apart. First her water heater busted twice which prompted my utility wall to grow mold and she never fixed it. Now apparently she has leaking pipes all over according to one person. They said it was the pipes under her sink which would coincide with my kitchen wall. No damage going on on my side. However, her boyfriend went crawling under her side and saw the wet wood which is below her water heater area in the utility room which buts up against my utility room wall.

This then prompts the removal of part of the wall as you can see in the first picture so they can look to see if they can actually see the leak around any of the pipes. Well, sure enough one of the pipes does drip, about 1 drip every 30 seconds at the elbow. Okay, put a tupperware container underneath it to catch the water so it doesn’t keep saturating the wood which is seen in the second picture. However, there is a problem, it fills it up pretty fast and over flows to poor onto the wood anyways. I’ve already emptied it 3 times today and will probably go in there in a couple hours and dump it out again and put it back.

I guess the walls gonna get fixed now but not after they rip more out to sauder the one elbow joint first and then leave it open to make sure nothing else is leaking. At least it is not inside my place. My utility room is outside my place.

I was super duper excited when I saw this 10 second clip. I thought hells to the ya another Ferris Bueller movie with them all groweded up.

I mean who wouldn’t think that right? RIGHT?!?

Here’s the full length commercial you will see during the SuperBowl and when I saw it I knew I was scammed.

Considering SuperBowl ads this year are between $2.6-2.8 million for a 30 second slot and this is almost 2 1/2 minutes. I’d say it was welllllll worth it. The bear moving back and forth in the seat is fricken hilarious.

And for the puppy lovers and Star Wars fans, this ones for you!! It’s called The Bark Side.

More Mishaps at the College

Here’s today public safety notice. I’m beginning to be thankful I don’t usually physically go to classes or have friends like this lol

I mean, really, who would WANT friends like this. It is insane. It looks like while one car was being stolen in the Romeo lot this was happening about the same time in another lot.

On Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at approximately 2:00 pm, a student was allegedly robbed at gunpoint inside his vehicle by the passenger who was a known acquaintance. The incident occurred in the parking lot behind Building 800. The victim alleges that the robber stole $220 in cash, an iPhone valued at $400, and a commemorative knife valued at $500. It has not been determined if the alleged robber is a TTC student. Since this incident allegedly occurred between two individuals who knew each other, there does not appear to be an on-going threat to the remaining public. An active criminal investigation is being conducted by Public Safety.

College E-mails

Every now and then I get e-mails from public safety at the college. They usually send these in mass e-mails even if some of us never step foot on campus for a class. I got a good chuckle out of todays. I mean, I feel sorry for the guy who’s car got stolen but who drives around in a car looking like this on purpose??

Today, at approximately 2:00 pm, Public Safety received a report that a student’s 1985 Burgundy Buick Electra 300 was stolen from the “Romeo” parking lot adjacent to Building 410. The vehicle is described as having a South Carolina license plate, 22 inch chrome rims, a San Francisco 49ers helmet decal on the hood, and a San Francisco 49ers license plate on the front.

Maybe they were die hard 49er fans?? Or maybe they hated the team so much they wanted the car to damage it?? Who knows but as it is a 1985 they MAY not be going far in it since it’s so old.

Prescription Fiascos

As a medical hospital employee I have spent my fair share on hold with pharmacies and insurance companies trying to get prescriptions to go through patients insurance plans. I happen to be well versed in dealing with Walgreens and Express Scripts . The battle over brand and generic medication rages on everyday because there will always be a difference in opinion of how well a certain brand medication will work verses the generic medication. It all boils down to money though. The insurance companies want to pay the least amount but then you have companies as middleman, ie Express Scripts, that are the go between the insurance companies and the pharmacies and the middleman ends up with the profit.

As of December 31, 2011 Walgreens is no longer part of the Express Scripts Program essentially due to greed and a failure to compromise. Ultimately, though, they are not seeing the big picture which is that they should be helping to ease the financial burden on patients whether it be low cost medication or ease of obtaining said medications at a local pharmacy. Walgreens offered to not increase rates but Express Scripts was having none of that.

Tricare is the insurance that the military uses which is also being affected. Walgreens even offered to separate the Tricare business from the commercial business but that offer was declined as well. I know understand why I have been calling complete medication lists for patients to new pharmacies that have Tricare insurance being serviced by Walgreens. This ends up being undo worry for parents and patients and extra work for the doctors office personnel.

Walgreens is fighting back in a sense though. They are offering their own prescription benefit plan that is affordable for humans and pets if you can believe that. Promotion price for the Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens is $5.00 for individuals and $10.00 for families (immediate family including spouse, dependents 22 and younger, and pets). This promotion price is from January 1 through 31, 2012 for new memberships and renewal memberships. You must not be receiving Medicare, Medicaid, or other federal or state health care to apply for this savings club. Walgreens is offering savings on more than 8,000 medications including discounts for diabetic supplies, nebulizers, pet prescriptions, and flu shots.

Slimming Down
