This is what happens when I’m going into my upstairs bathroom e v e r y s i n g l e d a y. No matter the time she expects me to turn on the water for her to drink and play with. When I cut it off she hops in the tub because that faucet drips and the owner won’t fix it. We have a routine though now. I turn it on for her to drink and play until I grab my toothbrush which I dunk under there to get wet and she waits. Then put my toothpaste on it and dunk it under again and she waits again. Then brush my teeth, and then I tap her and she backs off cuz I bring the water up fairly high to rinse out my toothbrush and mouth, take my allergy medicine and bring it back down for a few more seconds before turning it off.
I got the window cracked right now on the window next to my desk and she’s just whiffing the outside and listening to the kids yelling around the neighborhood.
That cat window perch is a nuisance and a POS. I nailed a portion of it to my desk and just tossed crap underneath it after taking of the pathetic legs to rest against the wall off because it is only held on the window sill by tape. Anyways, it’s sturdy, the windows open a crack and Snowflake is enjoying it immensely. When I pull into the driveway now I see her up there looking down on things. She had her surgery on the 2nd and healed very nicely even though she kept licking at the two stitches on the outside. She’s got a little bump from all the licking but it will go down. Her ringworm has cleared up nicely as well and all her furs back on her paw. No more chin acne. She’s the picture of good health now. That was a rough month or so but all is well. She still only weighs just over 4 lbs. I think she might be almost full grown now too so she’s on the small side compared to my last cat who was about 7 lbs. Buying heartworm medicine for her is hard as the minimum weight requirement is 5 lbs so I have to half one of those to give to her.
I still have a World Literature final and some systems analysis homework to finish by midnight tonight. Enjoy your Sunday folks.
So I did end up grabbing one of those window perch seats and I swear it’s the flimsiest piece of crap ever but for the time being it can hold the whole 3.5 lbs of Snowflake right now. It literally is held onto the window sill with just a strip of velco. There are some legs that lean on the wall but I swear it will keel over one day. For now she enjoys her sights of the neighborhood and the things that go on around the place. There is even a tree in front of the window so she can birdy watch. The padding is pretty thick though which I was surprised about.
Poor little Snowflake got a case of ringworm this week from stress. The HVAC dude had to come by twice because my A/C went out yet again without fail. It’s a brand new unit people. This shouldn’t keep happening but it does because the owner doesn’t fix the rest of the pieces parts that go with it. Well, more got replaced this time because the copper pipes started leaking through the upstairs bathroom ceiling and this is after it stopped working from the lines being clogged.
Anywhoo, Snowflake has a spot on her paw and a little bit on her tummy. She also has kitty acne under her chin because she isn’t doing a good job of cleaning that. She has earned herself some oral fungal medicine twice a day as well as a septic clean of her chin, paw, and tummy. She was very good at the vets though and they couldn’t believe how calm she was. Due to her fungal infection I have to postpone her surgery for spaying because we don’t want this to spread or her get anymore stressed and possibly break out more. You wouldn’t know she was stressed at this point because she is crawling all over the place as she is to be secluded for a week so the dog doesn’t catch the ringworm. I don’t think it will last because she doesn’t like being by herself. Just gonna have to make sure she stays away from the dog and vice versa.
The Beagle has finally stopped slobbering all over the kitteh. Snowflake now does bunny kicks with Stormy’s tail but when she starts biting it, that’s enough for her. I’ve also found out Snowflake is a little hoarder. She will nab her toys, the dogs toys, my hair ties and tuck them nicely away underneath the recliner that I use to dump things on. I’ve also found a pile of tissues in there. She even likes to grab my dish towel when I have it in my hand and run off with it. That also goes to the hoarding pile if I don’t grab her first, else I have to fish it out. She has so much energy it’s wild. She was getting up at 4 AM but now it’s around 5 AM. In about 2 weeks I go to nights so we’ll see how they both adjust to that schedule. I haven’t been on nights in almost 20 years and honestly I can’t wait to get back to them.
I’m thinking of buying a window sill seat for her for the downstairs because it’s almost to the ground so she can see but not sure about it because then I’d have to leave the blinds up for her to see and everybody can then see in my place. I don’t really care for that.
I also had to get Snowflake weighed to see if she could get flea/heartworm treatment. I figured she was maybe a pound and a half but nope, 2 lbs 14 oz. Still feels really light lol
I tell you people, never EVER take 2 history classes and a programming class in the same semester over the summer. I thought I was going to lose it near the end having to write all those papers and programs. I did make it and got two A’s and a B. American History is not nearly as interesting to me as World History is.
I had 3 weeks off and I lounged a lot not by choice on some of those days either. I still have my full time job but my cars been giving me a headache with the clutch. I’ve replaced everything I can in the hydraulic clutch system and it STILL gets air in the hydraulic line essentially killing my clutch to the point where I cannot drive it and have to get it towed back to the shop so they can bleed the line – which I really need to learn to do since I can’t afford to buy even a used car at this point due to only making enough money to pay the essentials I have now.
I finally got my financial aid sorted out at a 4-year college to finish a Bachelor’s since employers are pissing me off and won’t accept two associates and 17 years of experience to hire me. Got my student ID and picked up my school books today. Classes start Monday. Should be interesting I guess.
Pepper is still alive and doing a lot better. Doc thought she must have had a really bad urinary infection and me pumping fluids in her for that month or so cleared up her issues and her creatinine came back down to normal. So she just goes in every month for her Polyglycon shots which helps her arthritis and she can move around easier. It’s all about the quality of life now.
