Being unprofessional

Why is it no matter where you work there are a select few who try peoples patience by doing things unprofessionally? A new person was hired, I dunno maybe six months ago due to the previous lady being fired after a short few months because she could never be found and if she was found she was always on her cell phone talking personally. Now this new person comes in and was actually warned by another co-worker about the cell phone thing because she didn’t want her to get into trouble. Well that didn’t sink in I guess because I’ve seen her on a number of occasions walking down the hall on her cell phone chatting personally. Why can’t these discussions take place after work? I don’t get phone calls at work on a personal level unless it’s a question that can’t wait until I get home and even then I get somewhat annoyed. Even as I type this now by cell phone is vibrating because a calls coming in but you know what I leave in less than a half an hour so I think I can wait to find out what they wanted.

Now that I think about it, this might be unprofessional as well but guess what I’m not chatting with anyone on the phone and nobodies around me to see what I’m doing and if they were, they might think I was working 😛

How may people state that they get Bobby Darin on the mind when reading your site title? Sorry about the off topic question.

Us old timers should remember that Blueyes is but a wee lass and wouldn’t know who Bobby Darin is… ROFL

Besides his bio film is Beyond the Sea, that seems to me to be far away from By the Sea…

I can’t tell you how many people I’ve worked with over the years who seemed to spend their lives on personal calls, long before cell phones ever arrived.

Not only is it unprofessional but WTF is there that they have to talk to their friends or families about for the better part of the day?

And I can remember warning someone when she was switching into another job, that the Director would not stand her being on the phone all day, and yet that made no difference. She was still on the phone all the time!

With cellphones, I have to wonder about the urgency of these calls… on the subway on the way to work? standing in the bank line-up? The doctor wanted in emergency surgery call I might understand.
