Allergies

So last Wednesday sometime apparently I got into poison ivy according to what the ID doctor told me I had. I personally thought they were spider bites because it looked like bug bites on my neck Thursday and when I tore my bedroom apart I found a big ole spider. Either way I started using Hydrocortisone cream for the bites and the itching as my supply of Atarax was gone and I’m allergic to Benadryl. That still wasn’t working by Monday morning which is when I got one of the ID docs here to look at it and now I’m on a steroid taper pack. Seems to be working for the ones on my neck but I still have some on my abdomen, how they got there I don’t know, that are still itchy and I think they need air but of course I have to wear clothes and it might take a bit longer but the itchiness, my word. I need to see if Zantac is over the counter or something comparable that has some antihistamine in it.

Oh no! I’ve had poison ivy before and it hangs on for such a long time. If you had it originally on your fingers and touched any other part of your body, that’s how it spreads. It can also be on clothing. It’s the worst!

I once had poison ivy on my hand and didn’t know it. I went to the bathroom and well, I got poison ivy rash alllll over my body. I was miserable. They can give you steroid shots. I had to tie socks onto my hands to keep from scratching in my sleep.
