A Week in Review

Ya, I’m not even sure where to begin. It will be long so be prepared. It started out like any other week. Supposedly our new work furniture was to be arriving and we had emptied our desks and furniture that would not be returning. The furniture comes in on Tuesday and starts to get built. I’m in clinic all day and get back over there to get my lunch only to see my file cabinets up against the wall. So I ask how they plan to put those back because obviously you can see the dirt outline from where they originally were and the new cubbies are about a foot in from where they originally were. Well, I get told they are going around the corner in a room, nope not happening, patient files stick with me, I don’t have time to run around a corner into another room while on the phone with my physicians and/or parents from our outlying clinics. Why would they need to go around the corner you ask? Because they cut my fucking office in HALF!! Oh ya they did. So now I can touch one of my file cabinets because it is so close to my desk, have shit all over the floor because this new “spacious” furniture doesn’t have enough room. And my second file cabinet you ask? Well it’s in the “new office” in the other half of my original office with no room for them to put a chair in. Tough shit if you ask me. I also have shit all over that desk because I didn’t have anywhere else to put it. You can only cover so much floor space with enough holes to place your feet.

So anyways, the loud people kept going through there making questions of why are they doing this and what is this here for, etc, etc. Like it’s any of their business when they aren’t even in the same department as us so obviously I had to say something that day and I did very loudly something to the effect of “I don’t know why they have to keep putting there noses in other peoples business when it has nothing to do with them.” Then back for the second half of clinic and to home.

Wednesday was a holiday. I went over to my nurses house to help her paint her dining room. I had no fucking idea what the hell I was really getting myself into. This house must be about 100 years old with 12 foot ceilings, yes you heard right 12 FOOT CEILINGS with part of that up some stairs which probably topped it off at 14-16 feet? and the killer? The floor bowed!! So I’m using some ricketedy ole ladders praying I wouldn’t fall off straining to reach the top of the wall but I got it done except for the stair well part at the tippy top. No way I could’ve gotten it. They did the trim around the doors, baseboards and windows. Then the ceiling and crown molding was left to do. That took me all day until around 7 PM. Tired, sore, aching, painful doesn’t cover how I felt. Of course when I started out I was hungover so it only went downhill from there.

Thursday I try to start my computer only to find that the monitor doesn’t work and my chair is at least a foot foot and a half BELOW the new heightened desktop and I can’t get my brand new chair to elevate. WHAT THE HELL!! So I call to complain and then I’m off to clinic because I have clinic in the morning which lasts until around 1-2 PM. I had a migraine by the end of it. When I got back to my desk the loud people had the radio on loud at the desk right next to mine on the other side of the “wall”. No way was I listening to that like I do every damn day and asked him to please turn it down because I listen to it everyday. Sad thing is, it’s not just me, my coworker who is like 3 offices down can hear that shit too so dude needs to get some damn hearing aids. Still ticked off about my office. Whatever. Then I go to Brecks like I do on Thursdays after some exercise which helped my migraine. Had a bit of food, sat and chatted for a bit, then watched some tv, then got up, said I was outta there and walked out. Then I was getting a text asking what is wrong. What the hell? I got another one this morning asking the same thing. Sent a reply stating, I was wanted to go home so I did. Simple as that. He’s like well you didn’t say bye, hell I didn’t. Whatever.

Today, no clinic for me but got the beepers because we have away clinic today. No loud music thank gawd. I found out I was supposed to have another file cabinet which I never got, but I also don’t have anywhere to put that shit either. I was then chatting with a coworker about how bad clinic went yesterday because of a whole bunch of crap. They really need to fire most everybody and hire anew starting with the managers. Then we get on about how the hallway doors are always open and unlocked with our patient files and how her physician sacrificied her office to keep her patient files in hers. I already have 2 file cabinets of patient files in my bosses office, there is no more room for 2 more. And of course the loud lady heard it and went to shut the door, which by the way, they fixed the lock on for the 3rd time. Lets see how long it takes her to jack up this lock. The day got done, I pay some bills, mow my backyard, hit the treadmill and now am waiting for some laundry to finish up.
