You Know Its Been A Long Day

Friday, July 16th, 2010 | Personal with Comments Off

when you start losing it at the end. I was talking to a friend on the way home from work today practically the entire drive. Got home and was still talking to this person. I let the dogs out and dropped all of my crap on the kitchen table. Then I went to the couch and turned on the tablet and the TV. Grabbed the remote from the table and set it beside me while I waiting for Firefox to open up. Now mind you I’m still chatting on the phone. I looked to the table for my phone, not there. Got up went to the kitchen and couldn’t find it. I then grabbed the keys off the rack, went outside and unlocked the car, opened the door to look in the nook I keep the phone when I drive. Now mind you I’m still ON THE PHONE to which it dawns on me you dumbass you’re holding the freaking thing. I swear peoples, when you get a Blackberry you think your life is over with when it becomes missing. My whole life is on that sucker.

I swear if my head wasn’t attached I’d have lost it too. I nearly forgot to go pay something to and raced out the door to pay it before they closed at 6 PM and then got back home to make dinner which was going to be chicken and broccoli with brown rice. Got all the ingredients almost until I realized I had no more oyster sauce. Back out the door I went to the grocery store. Got some old bay seasoning for my tuna steaks while I was there and a couple other items that were on sale and back to the house to make my food.

Now I am just dealing with a couple flies that managed to squeek in while I let the dogs in and out and myself in and out. Hopefully the dogs will eat them soon so I don’t have to hear the buzzing.

I am SO glad this weeks over with. Gonna go watch the Sorcerers Apprentice this weekend with Nicholas Cage.

New Furniture

Ever hold on to something for so long it became out of style? I have and still have it sadly. I bought a sectional leather couch, black lacquer entertainment stand that is MASSIVE broken into 3 pieces, and a black semi lacquer bedroom suite that is far beyond being helped. The headboard is nonexistant at this point and I ended up trashing it years ago. I’d like to get something very simple. Nothing flashy. Something like the rustic bedroom furniture. It is solid wood and simple but has definition and design too. I also like the fact that this particular one is raised almost like I would have to step up to get into the bed. Maybe when I get my car paid off soon I can get new furniture all the way around because I’m sooo over all of it.

Four Foods on Friday #118

Friday, July 16th, 2010 | General with Comments Off

Time to learn more food facts according to me. If you are not interested you can move along. As always be sure to check out Fun Craft and Recipes to join each week and to spread the news so others might join as well.

Ha, I’m on time this week :)

1. Do you prefer soft serve ice cream or hard ice cream?
Umm, I’m assuming hard ice cream that comes out of a box or pint container? Bring on the Haagen-Dazs dark chocolate.

2. What is the strangest sandwich you’ve ever made?
Hmm, I don’t think i have made any strange ones but my mother used to make grilled cheese and tomato sandwiches which I thought were gross.

3. What’s your favorite type (not flavor) of potato chip?
Munchos!! They are the crispiest and saltiest and THAT is a great combination. Although the kettle ones are right on that tail of them and rising fast.

4. What size spoon do you usually eat soup with at home?
I eat everything with a tablespoon until they are all dirty then use the teaspoons but if silverware sets could come with double the tablespoons and no teaspoons that would be ideal.

Wool Clothing

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Ramblers Way. All opinions are 100% mine.

Alright, I don’t know about you but when I think if wool, I start getting itchy and one of those “pfth, pfth” sounds out of my mouth like somehow I got a piece of the material in my mouth. You know what I am talking about with the big bulky and heavy sweaters. I actually had one at one point and ended up giving it away because I just could not stand the feel nor weight of it any longer. I have a problem wearing heaving clothing and the weight especially when they are shirts. I do, however, love wearing Cami’s underneath a t-shirt especially during the night because it gets chilly to me. I am probably the only one though considering the temperatures we have been getting lately.

During the winter though, I usually have a t-shirt on and then a Clemson sweatshirt just to stay warm in my own house. Oddly enough I cannot stand to sleep in the heat because I sweat bad and the weight of a comforter annoys me because it feels like I’m being trapped in my own bed due to the lack of being able to move freely. So the downstairs is literally like a freezer and the upstairs just a tad cold. Knowing how warm wool is and the fact that Ramblers Way have been able to make wool clothing that does not have the itchiness or heaviness of it makes me what to rethink obtaining a few items again. I like how they have their own sheep farms in Maine and across the country to help produce the superfine fabric in the factories that they are partnered with which includes the Carolinas. I like that, I’m paying into a system that will help keep jobs here which we desperately need. After 40 years in business, I’m also thankful Ramblers Way was able to find a solution to the heavy itchy fabric and make it more streamline into soft lightweight material.

The Last Airbender

Monday, July 12th, 2010 | General with Comments Off

Okay, I did not know that this was a game first. I probably should have given how many comics have become movies but I’m just not that into the gaming world unless it is Spider Solitaire or Text Twist. Either way, this will be a trilogy as it showed at the beginning labeling it Book One. So we have 2 more to look forward to and you will look forward to it because it was a mighty fine movie and the kids I think will like it.

You have the elements: air, water, earth, and fire. As the title suggests, or if you played the game, there is only one airbender left and he is just a child who has not completed his training. Apparently any member in some of these “tribes” can be a curse if they are either a water bender, earth bender, fire bender because the fire people jail them as they are trying to rule the world and make it evil. Apparently the airbender, once fully trained in all the elements, can bring peace to the world. They had this wicked looking flying animal too of which I am still unsure what it was. But it was cool. Let me know what you thought of it.

Just Because

Anybody get flowers just because? Ya, they are usually far and few in between and that’s only if you are lucky enough to have someone who actually buys you flowers on those special occasions. I like buying flowers and/or plants as house warming gifts or as a gift to the person who is hosting a party and refuses to let me bring anything. I also like to buy arrangements during the holidays too because some of the plants look pretty. This year though I was thinking about buying more herbs and even dabble in fruit plants for next year so I won’t have to drive top pick blackberries.

If I had to choose 5 occasions where flowers were appropriate I’d say:

1. Housewarming
2. Birthdays
3. Hostess gift
4. Holidays
5. Anniversaries

Flowers brighten anybodies day if you ask me and the more fragrant they are the better if you ask me although some reek like Gardenia’s. I remember my mother grew a couple of those bushes near the front door and I avoided those as much as possible when they were in bloom. She also grew wisteria, that was a very sweet smell.
