This was pretty empty for a first showing on the first weekend on Friday. Was kind of nice actually. This movie is all that I hoped it would be with action and a plot. I just couldn’t understand why a Persian would have an English/British accent. Anybody else?
Fun Fact: This was actually a video game first. Anybody else know that? I didn’t. I guess I’m slow on the uptake of that as I do not play that many games. I usually stick to spider solitaire, Uno, crosswords. I also did not know that it was a trilogy either so I’m hoping they make the other two into movies too.
What I liked a lot was the fact that I did not need to know anything about the game. The movie held itself on its own merits. It’s a great movie for the kids so bring them along too.
Time to learn more food facts according to me. If you are not interested you can move along. As always be sure to check out Fun Craft and Recipes to join each week and to spread the news so others might join as well.
1. Who makes the best hamburger/cheeseburger?
Bessengers. We used to have one of their restaurants right on campus. I ate there ALL the time. They have the biggest burgers and then the side of fries were even bigger for like around 5 bux. It was awesome.
2. Who makes the best french fries?
Hate to say it but McDonald’s so far as I’ve seen because they are cripsy but I don’t eat anything else there.
3. Who makes the best shake?
Hmm, probably Ye Ole Fashioned Ice Cream
4. Who makes the best chicken?
I haven’t really had a really good chicken anywhere but my kitchen lol I despise having skin on my chicken because I do not eat it. I can still manage to make some crispy fried chicken with just some flour on it and it is yummy but I haven’t made it in forever.
You know with the recession still going on I’m sure all of us have taken a look at our finances and cut back where we can to save money especially when a lot of people are still out of a job. I know myself, I don’t go out hardly at all but still treat myself to the dollar theatre since it is only $3/movie.
What’s interesting are the things we cannot or will not live without including myself. I was reading an article over on my yahoo page about this and the 10 items we cannot live without include:
1. Portable computers
2. High-speed internet access
3. Smart phones
4. Education
5. Movies
6. TV
7. Music downloads
8. Pets
9. Booze
10. Coffee
Now let’s take these 1 at a time:
1. Portable computers: No doubt about it – I need my computer since my desktop needs to be rebuilt again.
2. High-speed internet access: A must have and there is no way I’d do dialup.
3. Smart phones: There is no way I can live without my blackberry. I actually use the internet more on the phone than I do with the computer. I’m actually typing this post on my trusty blackberry now.
4. Education: This is a must since people are without jobs because when you have say 100+ people applying for the same job they will most likely pick the most qualified with experience and education. I’m finally going to finish my degree up the coming fall semester. Need to get that in hand since I can potentially retire now.
5. Movies: Another biggy for me. I love me some movies and since I have a dollar theatre next me it makes sense to watch some. I don’t rent videos or have movies channels on my cable system.
6. TV: There is no way I can do rabbit ears. I haven’t been without basic cable ever and I don’t plan to start now.
7. Music downloads: Well this doesn’t really matter to me. I know a site that I can get my mp3s for free so that’s not an issue.
8. Pets: There is no way I will ever be without animals. I’m going back to cats though after my dogs pass because I’m tired of having to pay for puppy jail. When I had my cat I could just leave her for a weekend or a week with food, water, and a clean kitty litter box with no worries. I’d even leave one of the sinks to drip water cuz she liked that.
9. Booze: Well, I have curbed my intake of this and hardly ever go out to any bars anymore due to lack of money. I do, however have a supply of Crown Royal at my house from gifts so I won’t run out of that anytime soon because I’m not really found of drinking at home.
10. Coffee: I don’t drink coffee at all so this a nonfactor for me.
I think I’ve done enough rambling for one post. Give me a shout out and tell me if there is something else you can’t live without either on this list or your own list.
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Dove Ice Cream. All opinions are 100% mine.
So la
st weekend the owner finally had something fixed in my place, shocker I know right? Well, when one has no plumbing over the course of 2 bathrooms maybe someone needed to get off their butt and get it fixed instead of giving me the same line of I have no money to fix anything when I know for a fact she just bought a new computer, which by the way, I had to fix one time because she tried tapping into my wifi without asking me as well as not having the password. The stress of it all can be brutal at times. Granted it is nothing like demolition for upgrades on a house but when things do not work properly it grinds on your nerves when it does not get fixed.
That being said DOVE® Ice Cream Miniatures has launched the “My Mini Moment” contest which ends June 7, 2010. Sorry fellas, this ones for the ladies to share their most favorite mini moment of escape. There will be one grand prize winner and 3 “mini” winners but really all these prizes are more than “mini” prizes if you ask me. The prizes include a mini-getaway to Napa Valley, Spa services for a year or a mini-home makeover. So ladies, there is not much time to get your entries in and be sure to submit your story with photo.
The Dove Ice Cream miniatures are only 70 calories each so we do not have to feel bad about taking our “mini” moments away from life to enjoy something decadent. I personally love dark chocolate and most likely could devour an entire box in one sitting which is why I try to limit the exposure of such yummy goodness to my freezer. I loved the chocolate with chocolate coating even more when they first came out with those.
Oddly enough Dove conducted a survey to over 400 mothers to which 70 percent take time for themselves each day. I must say that is amazing to me especially if they have children. So moms, get your stories in about your hectic day so you can win one of the fabulous prizes being offered.
How many of you are sad and how many are happy? Did you know that Heroes is ending mid season next year? I gave up on that show a while back it got so boring. I like the summer shows on USA though. Give me a hail ya for Burn Notice, Psych, White Collar, and Royal Pains. They start in June so get read. Then on TNT you have Leverage.
In other new more movie reviews coming your way. I am off this Friday because our hospital is having their graduation day and all the relatives use my garage for some odd reason, still haven’t figured that out. I’m also off next Friday which is the Friday before Labor Day and Monday is a holiday. Go me, go me. I think I missed watching The Losers so I need to find a theatre that is playing that. I should be able to catch the A-Team though. I know there was 1 other movie I wanted to watch but I can’t think of what it is now.
I never understood how the DOT decides how many lanes interstates, highways, and any other roads should be. Sure some of it has to do with how many people live in the area and use it but come on…they can’t plan in advance? It is much easier to purposely make a road bigger to begin with than it is to expand a road. We are in the middle of yet another expansion on our interstate. It was 4 lanes, 6 lanes, 10 lanes to going to be 12 lanes in certain spots (one being the busiest exit ever).
What kills me is damage this does to our vehicles. I am so thankful I took the time to purchase the appropriate car insurance with windshield damage because I gotta tell you there is no way I have the money to replace it every few months which I currently have to do with all the rocks slamming into it. It’s due for another replacement now but I still have yet to call to do that because I’m trying to hold off as I see they are laying the cement now and I think it may be soon ending of the flying rocks. Honestly, with as many replacements as I’ve had I don’t even need to clean the inside of it because it’s time for a new one to be put in.
