Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010 | General with Comments Off

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Alvin and the Chipmunks. All opinions are 100% mine.

I saw this the same day it came out. If you remember I wrote about it because for some odd reason there were a TON of children in the theatre too. Couldn’t figure it out. It was a Friday and they were supposed to be in school. I have to say again though, Alvin is the funniest thing. I remember watching them growing up. Of course the singing was the prize of it all when the high pitched voices going along with chipmunks. Who knew it would still be alive and kicking to this day.

Now is your chance to own your own copy for either yourself or for the kiddos. It is on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital Download now. Digital download is becoming more popular and actually makes more sense to me but you know you want to buy it now to keep a real copy for later viewing. As you can tell I munked myself. Pretty stylish if I do say so myself. Might be a nice idea for an avatar somewhere.

There is More Munk Mayhem for you and the children to see on the website and has detailed information about each of the characters as well as a section called Munk to the Beat which is a game to some of the songs. There are a couple of video snippets from the movie you can watch and the steps for Shake your Groove thing because we all need to know how to do this. I just hope there will be a Christmas movie out with them too. That would complete the trio in my opinion.

Clash of the Titans

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010 | General with Comments Off

So over the Easter weekend I decided to go watch this movie on Sunday since the gym was closed. I remember watching the original one way back when and liked it. I could only imagine they have improved upon it this time.

There were a few disappointing things I missed about the original one though that was not in this one but they did touch upon them. The first thing was the gold owl. You remember him, he was sort of robotic with clicks and whistles. Perseus found him in a box when he was suiting up to go find the blind witches and put him back in the box. The second one was the fact that I wasn’t too impressed by Calibos in this.

Some new things perhaps or just that I can’t remember them was the girl lo. Was she really in the original one? The gift from the gods, why was it just the sword too? I mean I guess it’s not a big deal because he refused to use them until the end but where was the shield? There was another gift from them too besides the sword but I can’t remember it. Then those guys who weren’t really alive but not dead either and looked to be made of wood. Who were they again??

Either way, good movie. I did not watch it in 3D as I can’t see those properly. Maybe I will go see Date Night this weekend. Should be one heck of a funny movie.

Tempting in Vegas

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of KAO Brands. All opinions are 100% mine.

ImageEverybody should go to Vegas at least once. It is an experience that cannot be had anywhere else in my opinion and the gambling, oh my! For the people who live in Vegas, it is just another day in the life. For us outsiders, it is a chance to let it all hang out and do things we never dreamed of.

Kao Brands Company which include Curél®, Jergen’s®, Bioré®, Ban®, and John Frieda® products have a Temptation is Beautiful contest currently going on. The contest is only for US residents only.

The prizes being given away include a daily prize Gift Basket which include all of the Kao products. One basket to a lucky winner for 60 days. The grand prize is a trip to Las Vegas for 3 days and 2 nights, including transportation and accommodations, for you and three friends, plus $1,500 spending money. Now obviously I would take that money and live at the blackjack tables unless, depending on which hotel I was at, they had a Hold ‘Em tourney going on I could hop into.

There is a Temptress Temperature quiz on the site and I came out as

Now, honestly I’m not sure if that is good or bad but who doesn’t want to hang around with a bunch of guys and grab some pizza and a drink to watch kickoff? You should take the test too and see how you do.

Blackberry 9700

Monday, April 5th, 2010 | Personal, Technology with Comments Off

So recently I finally upgraded my blackberry to the 9700. This ones got the trackpad which at first I was iffy about because I loved my trackball on the other one but it’s growing on me especially when I’m scanning through my pictures and I just swipe it and its off to the next one. There are a couple things that I don’t like about the trackpad though like the fact that if my thumb is even somewhat tacky from water or heat that I can’t get it to work right. Then the other thing is that it is not sun friendly what so ever. The thing will move on its own from the sun.

Positive things, a wicked fast OS with more memory so I can put way more apps than I had on my other one and lets face it we all need more apps to play around with but honestly I still think I have only about 20 or so. Maybe I’m just that picky and don’t want to bog down my phone. I now have the Wi-Fi which I had wanted on the first phone but got the shaft on that when the rep didn’t tell me it was only available online. Doofus. I’m also on 3G now, superfast woo hoo!

Oh another thing I despise but its not the phone’s fault per say as it comes with the OS 5.0 is that shitty visual voicemail. I hate that with a passion. Just more wasteful space and annoying. I like the old way of getting my voicemails by pushing 1 and not seeing them on another app.

BBM 5.0 is way cooler than the original one too with barcodes, colors and the nifty group feature. Just need to get some more BBM friends as I haven’t been that active on that end. I am in the NFL group though which is nice.

Drip, Drip, Drip

Monday, April 5th, 2010 | General with Comments Off

That’s all I hear now from the kitchen sink. I seriously don’t know why I put up with the landlord of this place. Nothing gets fixed, NOTHING. I have to move the kitchen faucet to the middle section where the drips will fall onto the center and roll down the side so I do not have to hear it drip on the bottom alone. It is loud, REAL LOUD. I mean kitchen sinks aren’t that expensive and neither are just the faucets so why not replace them when they don’t work properly anymore? Because she’s cheap and that’s putting it mildly. You cannot compare it to her half though because there is nothing wrong with that and I can guarantee she replaced her kitchen sink with brand new ones a long, long time ago along with the fridge, stove, etc. I mean I could buy my own I guess but I shouldn’t have too.
