Four Foods on Friday #113

Friday, April 30th, 2010 | General with 1 Comment

Time to learn more food facts according to me. If you are not interested you can move along. As always be sure to check out Fun Craft and Recipes to join each week and to spread the news so others might join as well.

What can you make with eggs, meat or poultry, vegetables and a starch?

Sounds like a good meatloaf to me. Pound of hamburger, mix in an egg or two depending on size, crackers (starch), green peppers/onions cooked and tomato sauce of some sort (I like using the Hunts meatloaf sauce in a can). Bake away until done at 325-350 usually half hour to hour for mine at least cuz I have a crappy oven. I also like A LOT of ketchup on top because it tastes yummy all browned up.

What can you make with meat or poultry, rice, cheese and a vegetable?

It’s a mish mash of food for me. I made almost exactly this tonight except for the cheese because I went to our local farmers market at the hospital which comes every Friday for us.

I grilled some chicken and cooked some rice. Steamed some veggies and mixed it all together. Dinner time. I also put in a little garlic because I just love garlic. Of course I used a little Mrs. Dash on my chicken too. If I had some shreded parm I’d prolly put a little bit of that on top.

Watches

I’m not sure about some of you but I have always been one who needs a watch on them. I’m also one of those people who wear their watches with the face on the underside of the wrist. Now what really gets some people is the fact that I cannot stand womens watches. I buy mens watches and the chronograph ones like displayed to the right. I also like the gold/gold tone watches as well because I have never been a fan of the silver color. I bought my very own watch as a graduation gift to myself. No more of those cheesy plastic watches. It finally took a tumble into watch heaven when the manufacturer finally said we cannot fix this anymore a few years ago. Granted the warranty was for 10 years but I eeked it out to about 17 or 18 so I definitely think I got my moneys worth.

Seiko Automatic Watches can be excellent Christmas or birthday gifts but have you ever thought about Valentine’s Day? I did one year with my ex. He loved it. I ended up buying something almost exactly like the one I had myself except it was the silver/black color. I just need the date on the watch as well as the time and for it to be waterproof. I think it is way overdue for me to buy myself another watch since I have been without for so long. It aggravates me when I look at my wrist for the time and there is nothing there to look at so I have to drag my phone out to check it which in itself isn’t too terribly bad considering I’m never without it but I have to push a button to get it out of standby to view the screen and then back in standby so I don’t accidentally push any buttons when it is back in my pocket.

What are four foods that you make or eat every Easter holiday?

Well, I don’t make or eat anything in particular for Easter because I don’t do or go anywhere for Easter.

I can tell you what I did have to eat over the weekend which included some hamburgers and hot dogs on a cook out on Friday night and some Chocolate Cheerios Sunday night (btw you need to try them, they are delicious). Then just some fruits and veggies.

Date Night

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010 | General with Comments Off

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of 20th Century Fox. All opinions are 100% mine.

The Facts:
Date Night starts this Friday, April 9, 2010

The Stars:
Steve Carell and Tina Fey

The Plot:
Think about it. You finally get that date night away from the kids you may or may not remember scheduling with your significant other and want to try a hip/trendy restaurant that you may not have before but obviously you have no reservation. What would you do? You’d never take someone elses reservation right? Wrong. That is exactly what they do and it causes nothing but trouble.

I have seen this trailer so many times now as previews to other movies I was watching or off of the television and having Carell and Fey together in the same movie can only make for some good times. Having Mark Walhberg without his shirt makes any movie excellent.

I love the part when they have a head on crash with someone else and they keep yelling at each other you move your effed up car. Also when they are in the subway and Fey says we are going to get whacked off but Carell says no we might get bumped off but not whacked off. Then when Carell says oh god, he turned it sideways, it’s a kill shot, it’s a kill shot.

Make sure you see Date Night Movie this weekend. Sadly I won’t have my movie Friday because I have to get someone elses phones since they are taking the day off so I guess maybe a Friday night either before or after Buffalo Wild Wings.

Toothbrushes

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010 | Health with Comments Off

I’ll admit it, I’ve been really lucky with my teeth in the sense that there is nothing horribly wrong with them with regards to cavities or needing any sort of root canals, etc. The only thing I had was crooked teeth and had braces and an overbite to fix that when I was a teenager but I refused to wear the mouth guard at night and so my overbite did not correct fully as well as one of my bottom teeth now slightly overlap. Do I care? Not in the slightest. I just need to get them a bit whiter since there is so much calcium in them they are not as bright as they could be as my orthodontist keeps telling me.

So anywhos, I go to my twice yearly teeth cleaning and get my goody bag like I always do with a toothbrush, floss, and mouthwash. This time though she put in an extra toothbrush. She said that since I have such a small mouth that maybe a kids toothbrush might do me better than a big girls. Now I’ve known about the lack of space in there for some time because I had extra teeth before my permanent ones came in and then had to have permanent ones taken out because there was no room for them. Still have two more upper molars that have not come in and I don’t think they ever will but I could be wrong because my bottom ones came in wrapped around some nerves in my late 20s that got surgically removed.

So there you have it folks, I now brush my teeth with a kids dinosaur toothbrush. I do have to agree though in that I can get better access to my back teeth with the smaller brush. I still have the green big girl one as back up just in case though.
