A few weeks ago I went to see this movie. I’m still on a roll with taking my days off and coinciding with some good movies coming out. I almost forgot to post this review as I previously watched Cop Out this past Friday.
Well, as you may or may not have seen or guessed from the title and/or trailers it is man against the gods. Or rather a hybrid as it were as one parent was human and one parent was god. So we have Hades, Zeus, and Poseidon as the 3 brothers who happen to be gods. Poseidon’s son is accused of stealing Zeus’s lightening bolt and he gave a countdown on when it should be returned. Well, Percy Jackson is Poseidon’s son and he goes on this trek to ultimately save his mother who was taken by Hades and finds the lightening bolt along the way because Hermes’s son is the one who stole it.
I thought it was pretty good. I love Kevin McKidd as an actor (he played Poseidon) and only wish they had not canceled the series Journeyman. I still needs to buy that 1 series on DVD to have and watch again. I understand that some shows do not make the ratings cut but geez, why not have a vote on it.
Can you imagine? Did you guys see it? I’d be way pissed off too if I were this skater. Imagine knowing you were going to win gold, you moved to the outer lane like you were supposed to and your coach tells you get to the inner lane and he does not thinking fast enough and blows every chance he ever had in that race. I don’t think there is anything anybody can say to make him feel better. He had it. He had gold had he not gone to the inner lane. Sure he will most likely be able to come back to the next winter Olympics but that’s not the point. He could have a gold NOW. Should the coach be fired? He, of all people, should of known which lane he needed to be in. I’ve never seen anything like it before. I really feel horrible for Kramer and for the Netherlands.
The Olympics have been great this year. I’ve been trying to stay up to watch some of them passed midnight but still end up falling asleep. Thems the breaks I guess eh? At least I have been sparred a good chunk of the figure skating. I have never been into that and even though it truly is a sport I still think it is a sissy sport. I know I’m gonna get bashed for it but whatever. I’m just not into it. The snowboarding and downhill last night were excellent. Some bad bad crashes the night before and I was utterly surprised 2 of the women were back on the course last night competing. I was even hurting after some of those spills. So what’s my favorite so far? Definitely the downhill, the snowboarding, ski jumping, luge, speed skating, heck even the curling. I know, I know, why do I like that but not figure skating because it isn’t that physical? Because I can relate to that game, that’s why. It’s sort of like bowling and shuffleboard all combined but very cold.
What’s been your favorite sport so far?
I’ll give a cookie to whomever can tell me how they pick the logos for the olympics and why they choose a little man this year.
Hows that for ya USA? Every single state has gotten snow this year now except for Hawaii. Lucky lil SOBs. People down south can’t drive in snow. Hell, they can’t drive in rain but tack on cold weather, freezing ice on the roads and snow? Wooo boy look out. I read the paper this morning and there were between 60-80 accidents in a 12 hour period.
At least I didn’t lose power for any length of time. It did cut off/on about 5-6 times though. There is still some 40,000 odd homes without power. Of course the trees couldn’t keep attached with the snow and came crashing down. Heck, even some of the power lines didn’t have enough strength to stay up. I did get a few pictures though. Enjoy.

This was the very beginning of the snow. I had just left the gym from a class and was welcomed to that. I knew I still had to get to the store to get some stuff for the weekend since it was a long weekend for me. I needed to get stuff for the crockpot so I could munch on that all weekend and not leave my house. So far so good. Haven’t left at all today lol

This was taken at night before I refused to go back outside and look at the damage. You can see some flakes float on down in front of the lens as I took the picture. I needed a comparison for when I took snapshots in the morning obviously. Can’t really get a good feel of the depth because of the darkness but that’s all I had. By then the dogs weren’t too thrilled about having to walk through it much less pee or poo on top of it.
These few I snagged this morning. Obviously there is much more snow on the car than there was last night. Just now watching the news and they said we had upwards to 8 inches of snow overnight. Lucky me. I know my yard didn’t get quite that much but somewhere in town did. The walkway was covered last night though and thawed pretty fast in the morning.

Snapshot of a side view of the front of the house with some bushes. At least they are still standing.

Here are some shots of the backyard with one of the dogs out there. She didn’t like it much when the wind was kicking up and spitting some of the snow off of the tree limbs onto her. She kept hopping around and freaking out sort of and then ran to the door to be let in lol

This is the view of my next door neighbors backyard. She looks like she got more snow in her backyard than mine and as of now, most of it is still there too. There is a huge tree limb down in my other neighbors yard from the pine tree. Other than that, just watching me some Olympic games.
Time to learn more food facts according to me. If you are not interested you can move along. As always be sure to check out Fun Craft and Recipes to join each week and to spread the news so others might join as well.
Somehow I missed last week? Hmm, must have been superbowl fever. My bad

1. What are your four favorite soups?
I’m not really a soup person, the broth may have something to do with it. I will make my own chicken soup though but there is hardly any broth in it as I make it full with chicken and vegetables and pasta.
I do like a good flavorful tomato soup though.

1. What are four spices you must have in the house?
Salt, pepper, Mrs. Dash lemon pepper, Mrs. Dash original
okay peeps, what was your favorite? what was your worst? Did you even watch last night? The half time show was a bore. The Who, they keep bringing in the older crowd after that wardrobe malfunction with Janet Jackson. I hear they want to book The Eagles next year. Now that group I could get behind listening to.
Anywhoo, some of my favorites were in no particular order except to say that of course Budweiser was my absolute favorite with the Clydesdale’s. The entire set of commercials can be found here.
TruTV Polamalu commercial. I thought this was fricken awesome.
Coca-Cola commercial. This one beat the Simpsons one hands down. I hate the Simpsons.
Vizio commercial The groundhog was cute.
And now the best commercial of them all is Budweiser commercial.
You know there was also a Snickers one I liked with Betty White but it doesn’t seem to be listed. Odd.
