Football Bingo?

Friday, December 11th, 2009 | Sports with 1 Comment

Okay, who watched the game last night between the Steelers and Browns? What in the world right? I mean I think this is going to hurt the Steelers chance at even a wildcard now but what should I care anyways considering the Eagles are taking names and doing it right. We play the Giants Sunday night and I can only hope we can pull it out to get to the top of our division and make it further in the post season than we have been doing previously. I mean don’t get me wrong Andy Reid has been doing a fantastic job and getting us into the post season and he recently just got a contract extension which I know will help the team.

Now I also like playing the pots during the big games in that we have something looks like a bingo card with all sorts of possible points and during the end of each quarter we see what the score is and match it on the sheet. If our name is in it we win the pot for that quarter.

Imagine if you could play bingo for real like that. There are a couple of boxes that I might change though but I like the overall concept. Imagine playing online bingo with all your friends who cannot be with you during the big games. I can only imagine some of the comments after even one game with that. Right now we just have our weekly picks online since most everybody is spread around the country so this would not be any more different. Could have a card for each quarter.

Anybody having a good fantasy football season this year? I’m almost dead last as usual. I can never get a good draw. Eli has been giving me troubles and I keep benching his sorry behind and using Schaub. I wounder how that would be turned into bingo. Something to think about. But I must leave you now with something note worthy.

Four Foods on Friday #98

Friday, December 11th, 2009 | General with 1 Comment

Time to learn more food facts according to me. If you are not interested you can move along. As always be sure to check out Fun Craft and Recipes to join each week and to spread the news so others might join as well.

1. How many cookbooks do you have? (1-10, 11-20, 20+)
Without looking, I’d say 1-10. It is not many because I get most of my recipes from the internet.
2. Where do you keep your large utensils (such as slotted sppons, spatulas, etc)?
In a drawer right next to the stove. Quite convenient if you ask me.
3. What is your countertop made of?
I’m gonna have to say cheap linoleum? Not really sure, I’m in a rental unit so it is that cheap counter top stuff.
4. Do you use canisters in your kitchen?
Yep, I have 4 of them sitting right next to the stove on the counter with all sorts of pasta in them.

Tornado Watch

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009 | Personal with Comments Off

You know it seems, to me anyways, that when hurricane season ends at the end of November, we end up getting more tornado watches than during the hurricane season in December. Could be due to the warm weather I guess. We are supposed to get to 75 degrees today, probably hotter knowing this place which is fine with me but I wish all the leaves were not wet so I could bag them up and get them out of my backyard, side yard, front yard *sigh*

Anybody want to clean my yard for me?

It’s Raining

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009 | Personal with 1 Comment

IMG00040I have proof really. These are my pants after walking into work today. So much for fixing the storm drains so it would not flood after building an effin brand new building in one of the more notorious flood sections. I was lucky enough to get into the garage without my car stalling from the water on the roads. I took the picture myself so I wasn’t able to bend over enough to get my feet in the shot. Why would you want to see my feet you ask? Good question. This is why.

IMG00039Yep, my shoes and socks aren’t on me. I have them set up on the trashcan with one of our heater/fans blowing air on them while I can only hope will dry out somewhat before I have to leave this place this afternoon. When I took my shoes off I had water standing in them and when I turned them over in the trash can water came pouring out of them. Almost as much water came out from my socks when I wringed them to get as much water off as possible too. As for my pants, well, at least they are not wet on the back side so I can at least sit down but this really is uncomfortable and I am frackin cold.

Every time it rains down here it frackin floods. People know this. We should be allowed to stay home until the water recedes so we don’t have to go through this every single time. And to make it even worse, damn high tide was at 7 AM.

No Job for You

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of USC. All opinions are 100% mine.

There are only 4 states that have an unemployment rate worse than mine. Knowing that I am glad I already had a stable job even though I had to go on furlough for some of it. Working in certain sectors affords you some stability. What might those be? Some could include but not limited to healthcare, education, mechanical, or engineer. I know I have been using a mechanic quite often as of late and still need to fix a few more things but these are somewhat minor and is more electrical than mechanical even though the mechanic is going to have to fix it.

We recently shut down a couple of schools which prompted an excess in teachers with a short supply of jobs available to them since not all the teaching jobs were filled at the beginning of the school year. That actually developed an aggressive push for the jobs that were available and the ones with the more experience as well as certain college degrees were most likely the ones who were fortunate enough to get an interview. I still need to finish my degree before I retire from the hospital so I can start another career in computers. My only shot at this is to take online courses due to the ease of me doing my school work on my own time within the time frame given. The USC Rossier School of Education’s MAT@USC has program information regarding a Master of Arts in Teaching degree which hopefully some of the teachers here had. USC offers an accelerated 12 month course from an accredited institution that has a 100-year history which has been ranked #9 among private universities. USC has a tuition reimbursement specifically for MAT graduates. I try to pay for my courses out of pocket but may have to look into this to complete it.
