Dirt Devil

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Hoover and Dirt Devil. All opinions are 100% mine.

Blog_coverUnfortunately, I could not get the Dirt Devil Holiday Gift Guide to open properly due to some errors but I really did not need it. At the time I had bought my current upright vacuum I thought it had been in the higher end of quality but it is on its way out now. I could not even tell you how old it is at this point but it does not work right unless you have the hose attached to it using the extra features. Obviously with 2 dogs and the fir they shed, this will not work for me. Because of the holiday Dirt Devil has slashed their prices with online specials of up to 40% off. It is a shame we can’t do online layaway.

My next vacuum is going to be a Dirt Devil bagless. I look forward to not having to dump half of the dirt out of the bags from them being so hard to take out. Dirt Devil has a section just for the pet owners. The hand vacs for the car would be good for the guys. Ladies, that may be the incentive for them to clean your cars out too. Once the holiday gift guide is up though it will offer information on free shipping as well as over 300 ways to save with online shipping.

Mechanic on the Way

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009 | Personal with Comments Off

So I get home from work today and go to talk with my neighbor as she knows a mechanic too. One who happens to actually work at the dealership I bought the car from to begin with. What are the odds people? He might even remember working on mine as it has had a slew of warranty work on it lol. Of course I only did this because the other guy didn’t call me back and I need my car fixed.

So here I sit waiting for him to get off of work and come over in the dark to check out the car. I know, doesn’t make any sense to me either but if he can listen to it he could better pin point what is wrong with it than me. After talking with my boss this morning he mentioned the timing belt which made sense because I have had one break before in another vehicle and it is doing the exact same thing so I popped the hood when I got home but the belt was on properly. And that is if the one I was looking at was the timing belt lol We’ll know soon enough I guess eh?

Sponsored Tweets

So recently I have been getting into this whole twitter thing mainly to keep up with some local news as well as some other news that I find interesting. But as things go wrong I like to make quick snippets and sometimes show pictures of things I’m doing around town. Now granted I haven’t gotten to be famous like all the celebrities but I’m having fun. Heck, I wouldn’t even consider myself popular enough to be a local celebrity either.

As with every other known way to possibly get people behind a movement, charity, contests, etc, you can even make money by tweeting. Now when I went to sign up for sponsored tweets and was filling in my information I noticed that I am going to have to work on getting more followers because I won’t even be visible in the directory without having at least 200 followers as well as being online for at least 4 months which I have not achieved either. I’m behind the times, I know, but in my defense I actually had the gumption to think that it was asinine just like facebook and myspace. Either way, it was easy to sign up and search the directory. I liked the celebrity list, they even had them separated into tv star, rock star, author, etc.

If you are a power tweeter, better sign up so you can have the opportunity to be listed so others might sponsor your tweets and earn some money in the process.

From Bad to Worse

Monday, November 16th, 2009 | Personal with 1 Comment

Okay, I’ve had it now. If there is such a thing as karma, bad juju, or whatever, it’s all on me. I was on my way home from the hospital today and the car decides to die mid way through a turn at a stop light. Oh ya. Fun for me. I almost went off on this woman who proceeded to yell out her car window to get my vehicle out of the way because I’m blocking the road. YOU THINK?? REALLY??? I’m sure I was just sitting there trying to get the car started for fun during rush hour. Luckily one of the physicians I know was walking across that street and pushed me to a parking spot right across the street along with the help of a couple other guys that were walking by. Had to track down a coworker to make sure she did not leave so I could catch a ride home.

Had to park in a restricted zone so I had to call our public safety to tell them don’t ticket me. Then called my insurance to find out if I had a tow package, which I don’t. Gonna have to remedy that one soon. Then called a few towing places and found a fairly cheap one if you call extorting $75.00 out of me cheap. Then called a friend who worked on my car who sent me to this gawd awful transmission place who effed up the car to begin with and he is gonna come over when the car gets to me to look at it because I essentially bit his head off and that was wrong :/

Then lord knows what because I don’t have a fricken clue what they did to the engine or how much I’m gonna have to pay to repair it, which I remind you that I don’t have money to get fixed anyways. *sigh*

2012

Saturday, November 14th, 2009 | General with Comments Off

So, I have finally figured out what to do on Fridays now since I am not working them for the rest of the year. Go see movies of course. This week I watched 2012 and of course everybody already knows the premise of this in that that is the earth is coming to an end kind of thing that people have been predicting forever and a day. I like watching John Cusack as I think he is a good actor and this did not disappoint either. I found Woody Harrelson’s character a nut job though. When he finally bit the dust though he got funny.

Next week I am going to watch the new Twilight movie. I know, I know, a teeny bog movie, why the hail would you watch that? One of my friends kept telling me I needed to read those books and I was out of books to read so I read them. All 4 of them. At first it was kind of slow but by the time I got to the second book I was hooked and read books 3 and 4 in one weekend. I’m a bit miffed that there were only 4 of them though. I mean Harry Potter at least had 7. Whatever at least a movie is coming out so I can watch it.

If you haven’t seen a trailer yet for the Sorcerer’s Apprentice, look for it. That looks to be a good movie net year with Nicholas Cage. I may have mentioned it earlier and stated the wrong title. My bad :)

Four Foods on Friday #94

Friday, November 13th, 2009 | General with 2 Comments

Time to learn more food facts according to me. If you are not interested you can move along. As always be sure to check out Fun Craft and Recipes to join each week and to spread the news so others might join as well.

Blasted post was supposed to be up just after midnight but the thing messed up :/

1. How do you make mashed potatoes?
I like using red potatoes, just clean the skin off, cut them up, boil them, then toss in some butter and use a masher because I don’t like using a blender, and then put in enough milk to make them a little shiny and moist.
2. What do you wash pots and pans with?
Dawn liquid and a sponge.
3. Name something red in your refrigerator right now.
Ketchup
4. Do you prefer to use boullion cubes or the boullion powder mix?
Never used either one. What exactly are they for?
