I just noticed that my title fonts are back to normal. Not sure what the hick up was but thank gawd lol

Maybe it had to do with me screwing around with one of the other sites I have on here. Could be, dunno, don’t care. Woo Hoo

Slow Cooker

Monday, October 12th, 2009 | Personal with 1 Comment

Well since we are having cold weather this week I was thinking about hauling out my little slow cooker and making something. Only problem with that is the fact that I have to be close to home to make sure nothing over cooks in it even on low heat. What I really would like to find though are some recipes that can be on all day on low. Now my idea of all day would be at least 11 hours as that is usually how long I am away from the house during the week while at work. Is there such a thing? Anybody? Now mind you too I don’t have one of these humongous cookers either as it is just me and the dogs. If I had to guess the size I’d say a 3-4 qt size but honestly I don’t know how to tell. If it helps I can roast a 3 lbs chicken in there just barely.

Four Foods on Friday #90

Time to learn more food facts according to me. If you are not interested you can move along. As always be sure to check out Fun Craft and Recipes to join each week and to spread the news so others might join as well.

You’re making an ice cream sundae. What four ingredients do you want in it.

Hmm, well to start off with if I can get a dark chocolate ice cream that is what I would want because it is not as sweet, then whipped cream, chocolate bits, chocolate sauce, and cherries to top it off.

Windshield Damage

Friday, October 9th, 2009 | Personal with Comments Off

windshield I get so sick of calling my insurance company to either fix or replace windshields. I forgot to take a picture of this again this morning as it is now covering half of my windshield to the right now since it expanded the crack overnight. The guy is coming to give me a new windshield today so I won’t have a chance to get another shot. The only thing I can think of at this point is that I’m glad I got windshield damage on my policy because I’d be paying a buttload of money to replace it, money that I don’t have mind you.

Still on the lookout for a part time job and still haven’t even been called about any of them. I have filled god knows how many applications online for every known store around here but nothing has come of it. I even answered a couple job ads on Craigslist with nothing from it. I’m almost getting desperate now. Ha, almost doesn’t cover it, I am desperate. I even have more days I could work during the day now since I won’t be working Friday’s anymore for the rest of the year at the hospital since I have to use over 100 hours of vacation time or I lose it since they won’t just pay me for it. Also have quite a few Wednesdays and Thursdays thrown in there to cover some more of them. So, if you guys know of any part time jobs out there whether online or not let me know.

Missing Schoolmates

You ever wonder what happened to your best friends in high school? Did they happen to go to the 5 or 10 year reunion so you could catch up? Why in the world did we let those friendships go by the waste side as soon as we graduated? I still have no answer for the third question considering that is exactly what happened with my best friend right after high school. She never did show up to any reunions so far and I haven’t a clue why. I’d love to get back in touch with her. Makes you wonder exactly what has been going since she graduated. Marriage, children? Career was more important? It is answers to these questions that I would like to try to find out after I search for her on MyLife.

A couple of people have searched for me but I honestly haven’t a clue who that might have been since I don’t really know anyone in Texas or California that might be from our graduating class. I even have a search from someone who did not even go to my high school and there might possibly be someone else out there with my same name which I find a bit hard to believe but you never know. It could happen. If you could find someone from either high school or your college days and actually found them to be the person you knew would you get in touch with them? I would but I’d have to verify first that it is indeed the same person. My 20 year high school reunion is coming up soon and I can only hope that I find my old friend.

National Kidney Foundation

Monday, October 5th, 2009 | Health with 1 Comment

icesculpture So last night I helped out at a fairly new annual charity called “An Evening Under the Oaks” which supports the National Kidney Foundation. I helped with the registration of the event for bidding and there was also a live auction. I was also lucky enough to sit right smack in front of this humongous ice sculpture which was beautiful. The event raised a boat load of money for the foundation. What I find interesting is that you always end up seeing the creme de la creme of society at these functions, and guess what, they are normal people too.

I wasn’t able to sample hardly any of the food because it was so busy. I had one of the chefs there grab me a cookie since I knew her. I was plum tired by the time it was over with but had fun overall and will most likely be helping out next year to should they choose to have me back.
