Children are Funny

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009 | Personal with 1 Comment

So yesterday evening one of my friends and I decided to eat outside the local hangout because that was the only place I could think of that had outdoor seating except downtown which there was no way I was going to make. Well, there are some wandering cats that hang out there as well looking for food and some attention. They are a couple orange tabbies. They were minding their own business when one of my other friends came out to chat for a few minutes after picking up here daughter who is 2 and she immediately spotted the kitties and went after them. Of course they hauled butt but it was still funny because she kept saying my kitties are gone. Where did they go? and was looking everywhere for them lol

I really wonder these people do at nights sometimes. I do know they hide stuff in the ceiling tiles because we found brand new vacuum cleaners up there before when the IT guys were laying some new fiber up there. They stole a laptop out of one of our offices and pawned it in New York. They have stolen radios in the labs. They have slept in our chairs at our desks and used our phones. Some times they don’t empty the trash. Most days they don’t sweep. Sometimes they rifle through all the paperwork on my desk as well as try to get into all my locked drawers.

This morning, however, it smells like they dumped Yankee Candle in here because it R E E K S :???:

I don’t know what you call this smell but I can barely breath it is so heavy. My eyes are even watering but I’m not sure if it is from the stench or from only getting about 3 hours of sleep again. :uhh:

Businesses Being Creative

denimI think I finally have a line on a part-time job and I can only hope that I get it because I really need it. Granted it is more evenings during the week which I wanted to avoid but you have to do what you can to get your bills paid for you know? With the extra money coming in I can finally get a few things replaced like my cars tires, the dogs need to get a physical and shots, as well as some new clothes for my closet because it is rather pitiful. I only have a few choices and some of the clothes from last year are too big again. I think I may try to take them to the seamstress and see what she can do for me because they are almost brand new.

shoesTalbots has some clothes I would not mind buying like the boot cut jeans above and some new shoes. I am sorely in need of shoes. I usually prefer flats because I have a habit of tripping and I don’t see why I need to be taller than I already am which is pretty tall I think compared to average. The one pair that I always wear are getting worn out and most likely will end up with a hole on the bottom soon if I can’t get them replaced. I could also use some tank tops for my gym workouts too since all the t-shirts I have been using are way over sized and it does get hot up there in the cardio room. As for shirts for everyday use and to work, I prefer short sleeve. For some reason I become extremely hot in long sleeve and especially turtlenecks. If I can’t get my neck cooled off I will start to sweat.

Talbots is the one store so far online that I have found to be innovative in their advertisements. Who knew that the red chair confessions would become so popular and behind it all was a clothing business. I was way off when I was watching them but I have to give them credit it was ingenious.

Twisted Tuesday

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009 | General with Comments Off

As if yesterdays traffic accidents weren’t bad enough they decided to do a rerun of it today except it was only on the bridge today. I don’t get these people. You know I found out what really happened on the bridge yesterday. There was an accident on one side of the bridge, just your usual rear ender when on the other side some a-holes decided to stop to look at the accident fast enough to where the 18 wheeler behind them smashed into them causing the accident on the other side of the bridge and the worst part was it was a gas tanker. A-holes…why do people have to be so dang nosy? The news WILL show it if its bad enough and of course it showed those because of what happened.

Todays blockage was 2 semis and 4 cars. Lord only know what those people were gawking at today.

Anybodies guess how many accidents there will be tomorrow?

The Kids are Nuts

So this morning as I was glaringly late for work due to those accidents but not as late as our nurse since she started for work after me and she lives farther out but that’s here nor there. One of the patients siblings we saw today was wearing a full on ninja outfit. He was already ready for Halloween I’m guessing. He may have been getting a jump start on Jack’s Quest.

Jack’s Quest is going on from September 7, 2009 through October 25, 2009. What everybody needs to do is send in any and all videos, pictures, and/or stories will automatically be awarded a shopping discount as well as be eligible for more prizes. You can get all your close friends and family to go the site and vote for your submission or vote for the most exciting one. The top 100 submissions ranked with get some sort of prize. Be sure that once you post your submission that you put a “Vote for me button” on your blog to get more attention to it.

I’m sure there will be tons of submissions for this especially from the kids point of view as I have seen some very creative costumes. I do remember when I went trick or treating in Germany and we went all out on base. I remember our apartment building made a graveyard with weird lights, a coffin with a person in it to scare the crap out of the kids when they came in. It was hilarious.

Manic Mondays

Monday, September 28th, 2009 | General with 1 Comment

It was like someone decided to make everybody late for work this morning. Could it have been planned? I’m thinking so. How could you block an entire bridge and the incoming interstate lanes going into town all at the same time? It took me just about 2 hours to get to work this morning.

There was a 2 car in the left lane and not more than 300 feet a 6 car pile up in the right lane that took about 4 hours to clear up which is what I had to go by. Then on the bridge an overturned gas tanker whether it was a semi or a smaller truck I don’t know but there was nothing go or coming off of that bridge for a while.

Then I was listening on the radio as I was making my way home that one of the main roads in my town was blocked completely and had been blocked for at least 2 hours prior to me even getting on the road. Insanity.
