I remember these specials growing up and honestly I thought they were still going on. I remember they literally had a bluelight flashing on a cart-type rolling box throughout the store depending on where the specials were. I honestly thought what they did was find a spot in the store where hardly anybody was there shopping and throw the bluelight on and the people came rushing including us sometimes. You just went with the flow way back then. Of course I know better now but I still have that idea in the back of my mind.

Well the Kmart Bluelight Specials are back and you can catch them this weekend for one day only on August 1st. There is going to be over 40 bluelight specials throughout the day in-store. There will also be some great specials online at kmart.com as well in case you cannot make it to the store but again only on Saturday. Kmart will have these specials from patio furniture to sports equipment to jewelry. I remember one year I was shopping I believe maybe in October/November and came across a jewelry sale. Must have been 80% off because I bought this beautiful ruby and diamond bracelet for myself as a Christmas gift. I used Kmart’s layaway option and had it in time for Christmas. And no, I did not wrap it and put it under the tree. I wore that baby out the store proudly. I also get my earrings there since they are usually on sale as well and normally end up buying 2 pairs of each due to the fact that I keep losing them. Not sure how it happens but it does and I’ll always end up with just one of each and have a miss mash of earring posts. Might as well go there this weekend and get some more because I’m on my last matching pair again.

Well, ever since I got this program to win a new blackberry I have essentially been hooked on it just because i can get my favorite blog post captions as well as keep up with some of my friends who might post some inane thing on there. I even have my local news channel in twitter and they post some new news stories and/or if there is some sever weather going on which i think is kind of neat.

I don’t know if you haven’t seen or heard of Man v. Food on the Travel Channel but this show is hilarious mainly from the host Adam. He tries to eat these insane amounts of food and sometimes other people will try the eating challenges with him. They are all nuts if you ask me but he will find some of the out of the way places or the most popular especially if they are around a college which probably most of them are because we all know that students eat a tremendous amount especially at night. Gotta eat that greasy stuff to counter act the liquor I guess right?

1. What’s your favorite flavor of Italian Ice?
Well, I don’t have many of these but I usually get cherry.
2. Watermelon. So you prefer seeded or seedless?
Seedless all the way and it still bugs me when they are supposed to be seedless and they still have seeds I need to pick out. That’s the whole point of seedless isn’t it?
3. Ice cream. Do you prefer soft serve or hard?
Okay, I must be dumb because I do not know the difference. Of course, I also haven’t had ice cream in ages either soo….
4. Ice pops. What kind is your favorite?
I haven’t had any of these since I was a kid and it was always the red and purple for cherry and grape but then the lime would come in the next. I forgot what the other flavor was in there because there was always 4 flavors. Hmm…

So I am finally starting to use some of my vacation hours that I keep racking up on a monthly basis. Sure it is nice to have this absorbent amount of time on my hands but it is also a doubled edged sword in that I can’t take off a lot of it because of the things I need to get done at the hospital. We are in the process of rearranging some clinics around too so no more Friday/Mondays off consecutively anymore to get a long weekend.

One of these weekends I really should get some friends together so we can share the cost of actually going somewhere where we can have fun. We could get a room at the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing for a few days. Of course that could mean that I would need to board the dogs again but they allow pets so I could bring them along with me. I would assume they would have a dog walking service. At least I would hope so, otherwise it might get messy.

While at Branson, we should go to the lakes that are nearby which would include Lake Taneycomo and Table Rock Lake. We would definitely check out some of the live entertainment that they offer. I am not sure the Fiddle Fest would be our cup of tea but you never know.

If we were to go to the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel we could do some shopping which I know my friends are fond of. Somehow I lack that shopping gene. We could go to any one of the many fine restaurants as well as take a stroll along the river. I personally would not mind watching a bit of golf, especially if I could watch some pros but I could guarantee that I would not live that down with my friends as they think golf is boring. Either way, there is something in Branson for all to be had whether going up there with some girlfriends, family, or maybe a solitary holiday by yourself. I have done that before too.

So I was trying to win a new Blackberry Gemini from a contest over at crackberry.com and I was sooo close. They picked 10 names and then the winner and I would have essentially been the 3rd person in line to get it lol

On other news, I have swapped over the hosting package to NameCheap now and have just about everything functioning the way it should except for the online section which I just might take down anyways and these fricken titles. I’m not sure why it is coming out so funky. I may delete it and reinstall that plugin to see if that helps but it has been wonky since the server got hacked. I just copied the entire site over to the new one so I’m working with the same files.

Oh and because of the contest I now have a twitter account. Any of you peoples worthy enough to get me to add you? Post em now, maybe I’ll get around to checking you out Anybody recommend any good twitter apps for the blackberry? I keep hearing of all sorts of apps but not really sure what the function of them all are yet as I’d like something simple.

Either I’m really, really stubborn which is the most obvious choice or I’m totally missing this twittering aspect of the internet. I just cannot comprehend
how posting snippets of blather makes its rounds on the net and people are that interested unless it is for someone well known or for companies to look out for something new they might slip up and say that has not hit the media yet. Kmart even has their own twitter account which you can check out by using @kmartdealsnnews. They use that for updates and specials otherwise not posted in the flyers or commercials. I love shopping at Kmart and wish they still had the one down the street open so I could visit that more often than I do now since it takes 15-20 minutes to get to the nearest one. I did manage to get to Kmart right before I went to our camp in Tennessee to get some new t-shirts and shorts since just about all of mine are too big and of course they had a great sale going on like they normally do which is why I liked have a store down the road from me because I could stop in a couple times a week to check things out. This weekend only on July 25th all day there will be Kmart Bluelight Specials. I just wish it was next weekend because I get paid next week. I love getting supplies for the kitchen there because they carry Martha Stewart stuff. She may have been put away in the pokey for a short period of time but that woman clearly knows what she is doing. I also buy her bathroom and bedding supplies. I actually stocked up on supplies when I was getting ready to move out right after high school and got everything from Kmart. The good thing about this sale though is that they will have over 40 Bluelight specials in the store and other offers online so you could get some shopping done at home as well.
