So recently I took a trip to Tennessee for our kidney camp and I had to put my beloved girls in the kennel. Now it should not have been traumatic of any sort due to the fact that it was at the vets that I use so they know all the people. It was just the idea of them away from me and locked up in a strange place. Well these photos are ones I took when I got back on Saturday because I realized I did not transfer mine over from the computer that I took on the old phone but these are way better. Pepper will be turning 10 this year I believe, maybe 11. I’d have to pull her paperwork but she’s holding her own and the little one is keeping her young wanting to play all the time.
Recently, however, they have caught some fleas from probably the neighborhood cat that has been skulking around so obviously they are scratching more now. Not only that though the little one is shedding up a storm recently too which I could assume would be a winter coat coming off but she really did not have that much fur to begin with I thought. Well, it could be lack of some minerals as I have them both on weight loss dog food which is grain-based due to the little one being overweight and I cannot really feed them separately because they would want each others food. Over at Dinovite in the solutions center is a quick and easy test to find out what minerals perhaps are missing that might help with the shedding and fleas. I do not like to give Pepper human food because she does not tolerate it that well except for the fruits and she dearly loves bananas. According to the test Pepper might have some common nutritional deficiencies due to her being a senior, using the weight loss dog food and probable lack of meats. They suggested Carnoyum as a dog supplement which has some Omega-3 and -6, amino acids, and antioxidants. Luckily, Stormy gets the same results so I could try this and see if it helps any and maybe these are the same ingredients that Pepper needs to be able to digest our human food more better because usually I will have to clean it up when she throws it back up.
