Washing Dogs

Monday, March 30th, 2009 | Animals, Personal with 5 Comments

Okay so how many of you have dogs and give them bathes? Don’t be shy raise your hands. Now, how many of you end up being the one getting the bath verses the dogs? Keep them up, don’t lie. Ya, that’s what I thought. Why is it that? We have all the intention of helping them get at least a monthly bath although sometimes it goes longer because they just don’t cooperate with me. I mean if I could give my cat a bath why not them for goodness sake?

dsc00125Nothing beats watching them run around with their heads cut off though after the bath because they feel so fresh and energized. It has to feel good because I know I feel good after a shower.

On a personal note, look at me, my hives have taken on a mind of their own and now its just an all over rash with hives now. It’s horrendous and I swear I can’t wait until Friday to get seen. There is no way in heck I’m not walking out of there without a steroid prescription because that just ain’t happening. That’s just a picture of my stomach, now picture this on your face, arms, hands, legs, back, butt, everywhere

I am so Busted

Friday, March 27th, 2009 | Health, Personal with 1 Comment

So it’s been no secret that I have been looking for a part time job recently to replace the one that I had because my car is in dire need of repair. I am just thankful that we do not have inspection stickers to deal with every year because I tell you what I would never pass it. The reverse lights do not work, the speedometer does not work when it gets hot and I need a completely new set of tires because they are essentially bald and I’m just wondering now how long before they actually bust before I can afford to replace them. That’s not including what needs to be done to the engine :uhh:

Now onto my clothes issues. Back in 2007 I had had enough of being overweight and started going over to our weight management department and signed up for one of their studies. Seemed easy enough as we were doing the Slimfast shakes, a personal caloric diet and exercise. We got to see the dietitian at the very least once a month to make sure we were maintaining calories verses the weight we lost. I essentially had to give away every single piece of clothing I owned to the Kidney Foundation because none of it fit. I never liked shopping so I’d only buy a few pieces here and there because I would loose more weight and have to toss those as well. It even got so bad my coworker was buying me clothes and I must say she did a bang up job of it too because it was tasteful and she got the right sizes that I was currently in. Sadly those are too big now too. I did manage to buy some jeans at Sears for this past winter that fit and I still need to loose a few more pounds but I think I’ve leveled out in the size department. If I end up going smaller it will be by only 1 size so I should be able to hold on to these until I wear them out.

Right now Sears is offering 75-80% off all fall and winter apparel from now until April 18th so get yourselves over there for the sale prices if you have got the money. If not, you can check out Busted Moms which is backed by Sears. Now you do not technically have to be a mom to enter this. Sears is giving away a package worth $2500.00 to include $1500 of Sears apparel which I sure as heck could use considering my lack of clothes now, $250 spa treatment which I also could use for massages on my back with my spine problem, $250 for hair and make up which would help in that I will not be chopping up my own hair like I have been doing and most recently just got my coworker to cut it at least straight this time compared to what I was doing, and lastly $500 cash which I would put towards tires for my vehicle since Sears has an automotive section. You just need to be a member of Facebook and then become a fan of Busted Moms or you could follow Busted Moms using Twitter at @bustedmoms.

Four Foods on Friday #71

Friday, March 27th, 2009 | General with 7 Comments

Time to learn more food facts according to me. If you are not interested you can move along. As always be sure to check out Fun Craft and Recipes to join each week and to spread the news so others might join as well.

1. What’s your favorite cereal?
Hmm, this is a toughy. Apple jacks and currently the multigrain Cheerios.
2. What do you use to flip food on the stove?
One of them rubber spatulas that is safe for Calphalon nonstick pans.
3. What’s your favorite type of donut?
Definitely the chocolate ones and if I could get chocolate icing on it too all the more better.
4. Share a rice recipe.
Well I sort of whipped up something the other day with rice. I like to mix my brown and white rice because the brown rice is better for you but doesn’t take all that appealing on its own. I cooked my rice in some chicken stock. I then cut some chicken tenders into bite size pieces and cooked them with some Mrs. Dash on them. Nuked some broccoli in a bag and added that to the chicken with a touch of olive oil and then put that on top of the rice. I think next time I am going to add a little of the chicken stock to the chicken and broccoli as well because it got a little dry over the rice and I like a little sauce to mix with the rice.

Comments from a 4-year-old

So most recently they have been updating the colors of the walls in our clinic. More festive and bright colors I can only guess to help ease the patients while they are been seen. Each hallway has a different color as does each room. The choices of colors are a bright burnt orange (almost Clemson orange if you ask me), teal, purple, and lime green.

Well, it just so happens our hallway is now the orange color. Works for me as I kind of like it. Then we have Rm 9 as orange, Rm 10 as purple, Rm 11 as lime green, and Rm 12 as the teal color.

So, bright and early with our first patient, this little 4-year-old is walking down the hall and he’s like hmm, then goes into his room and starts to eat his breakfast. I go in and ask him what do you think of the orange color and he’s like it is sort of bright and I don’t think I could sleep in here now. I’m like okay well lets check out the other rooms to see which one you do like and I take him to Rm 10 with the purple and he goes “purple, it’s alright” so I take him to Rm 11 with the lime green and he’s goes “Ooo fancy”. I ask him, so you like this color? He goes ya. Then I ask him if he wants to use that room instead of the orange and he goes ya and I tell him go get your food and tell your dad your moving rooms lol

After he gets all settled I go back in to see how things were because he had some minor surgery the week before and he then proceeds to say he got drunk and I’m like what? Then he says they gave him Valium and he was drunk. I nearly fell over laughing because he was dead serious. His father pulled out his phone and showed us the video he took as the child was being wheeled away in a little red wagon back to the OR for surgery.

I won’t even get into how another little 5-year-old and her little sister with kid safe scissors decided it was a good idea to cut their own hair and give themselves some bangs.

I tell ya, some days clinic is damn hilarious.

A MMORPG that is Fun

Thursday, March 26th, 2009 | Technology with Comments Off

racing I like the simple games which is probably why I have never been that interested in any of the MMORPG ones before like World of Warcraft which seems to be the most popular. I recently had the opportunity to play MagNext which is essentially a kid friendly game which is probably why I like it. You are this sphere going through different environments and challenges. Now I have not completely been through all the environments but so far it was pretty fun. I really liked the racing portion of it and it took me a little while to get the timing down right to start collecting all the coins.

At the very beginning you can go into the store and change the color of your sphere and of course I chose blue because for some reason I got pink *shivers* Never was one for that color. You have the opportunity to battle other spheres too if you so chose but I think I’m a pacific as I rather go racing. The more coins which they call XP you collect gives you the opportunity to use them in the store for other goodies in the gear section or action skills. You do get a free action skill of electron but I haven’t quite figured out how to use that yet. I think this is an excellent game for the kids to play online and for us adults.

More Questions Than Answers Now

So my boss saw me using alcohol wipes like there was no tomorrow on my rash because I did not want to scratch it all open when he asked what the hail I was doing obviously and I told him. Same rash as last year, same time. He told me this time I need to get seen by dermatology which I have an appointment for next Friday *ugh* Then he was telling our nurse about the rash and I’m like ya see and lifted my shirt up some because it is all over my stomach too and he’s like wait let me see that and at first he thought I had an urticarial rash which prompted the appointment but after looking at it thinks now it could be dermatographia. Nice :uhh: Then he sends me for a CBC and IgE level which all came back negative which makes the derm appointment even more appealing now. I tell you what though if they can’t squeeze me in any earlier I’m going on another Medrol Dospak to get rid of all the itchiness. I put some Eucerin cream on the rash last night and made sure I took some Zantac along with the Claritin since there is an ungodly amount of antihistamine in that as well. Not as bad on the itchiness but boy could I scratch away if I wanted. It’s most definitely the pollen that’s doing it since this is pollen season and the same thing happened last year.
